Time to get excited! I hope everyone recognizes the actor at the end, if you do, you know this might just be awesome! What are your thoughts on the trailer? Excited for the movie? 

 

Me myself is excited over the fact that Spectre is brought back in some capacity. Needs more of the older James Bond movies to feel like a James Bond movie.

I'd say that's a bit harsh, I didn't enjoy all of his portrayals, but these new James Bond movies aren't the worst ones ever made. In my opinion, that is.

Yeah, rumors say that Idris Elba could become the new Bond after Daniel Craig.

 

I have to say, I don't really think that Craig is a "real" James Bond, Brosnan and Connery were the best ones in my opinion. Still, I enjoyed Skyfall a lot, one of the best Bond movies so far.

But I feel that Craig's movies do lack the "overstatement" that older Bond movies had. No more death ray satellites, more down to earth villains. I'm not a big fan of that.

 

But I am really looking forward to Spectre, especially because of Christoph Waltz, and I like the new faces of M and Q and of course Mrs. Moneypenny.

This is going to come off as racist, but I don't think Idris should play Bond. James Bond is a white character and has been from the very start, changing the race of Bond now, 60 years since the character was created, makes little to no sense to me.

Well, see what Marvel and DC are doing at the moment, just to come off as "politically correct". I am not convinced that all these changes make a lot of sense, because - like you said - these characters were created 50 years ago.

 

But as for Bond, it does make sense for me. Especially when you believe in one of the "Bond-Conspiracy-Theories". James Bond 007 is just a code name a lot of agents inherited from their predecessors. When one Bond dies, the next Agent takes his place. I like the theory because it explains the changes in character and visually Bond has undergone. And while that probably isn't what Metro Goldwyn Mayer is thinking when they cast Elba as Bond, I can easily live with it because of that theory ;)

Hyped for it. I personally like the "down to earth" take on the more modern Bond films (Kind of like the Dark Knight trilogy). Although I preferred the "middle ground" that the Brosnan films took; teetering on the edge of far-fetched, but still could be plausible. I feel like they did make Craig's films too action-y and trashed the smooth-talking Bond that Connery and Brosnan portrayed.

 

 

Can you actually believe that, I think it was Broccoli, wanted Hugh Jackman to play Bond but he turned it down since he didn't want to be typecast?

But I don't really believe that rumor. Do you have any sources on that? Because Jackman is australian, and Bond actors need to be british. Although I'm sure that australians could easily do a british accent, but still, there seems to be this quiet rule that James Bond always needs to be portrayed by a british actor.

If we go that way, it didn't make any sense either to take a blonde actor as James Bond. James Bond had black/dark brown hair since the very start, and yet all of sudden Daniel Craig appeared. If they want to change the blonde hair to black skin, it won't make less sense than going from black to blonde hair for the James Bond character.

Wow, nice. I'd love to see Jackman as Bond. I feel that he'd impersonate a more funny Bond than Craig, more like Brosnan did. But well ... he turned it down, so let's see who'll inherit the role from Craig.

I understand that but Bond is a fictional character.

 

I don't know too much about the backstory of the "double-O" program but I'm pretty sure they are all different people, right? So there have been multiple "James Bonds". Why can't one of them be black?

there is only one person who has a given 00 number. so only one 007 and hes white.  ummm because they have only ever shown like 2 other 00s
