What is the required specs to run ELS V8 properly

Featured Replies

There is really no spec requirement. I think the minimum, in my opinion, is anything that can run GTA4 with 25+ FPS.

The thing is, is that when I use ELS V8, after 10 min of playing, the game crashes, and I want to know why?

Is it really ELS V8 that's crashing you? Does your game crash when it gets low FPS?

ELS is a script mod, it doesn't need system requirements.. generally if your computer can run GTA IV then it can run script mods. people who use ELS use modded cars.. so it's most likely the cars you're using are causing the crash.. not ELS itself.

To minimize the crashing, don't use high poly car mods.. and turn ELS off for AI controlled vehicles =)

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

no, not when its low FPS, just when I use ELS V8

Well that kinda ruins ELS dont your think?

And ELS ruins your game experience, so it's an endless circle, at some point you'll have to do some minor sacrifices to balance the whole thing.

One thing you can do to help minimize ELS crashing the game; only use it in the car slots that don't spawn often, like Noose, FBI, police3 and police4 (EFLC).  Keep police and police2 slots a ELS free zone, and should help mitigate your crashing issues.

Same goes for the car itself. I use low poly non-ELS models in the police and police2 and good hi-poly models (that I know don't cause game issues) for my ELS slots.

I've made my nstockade slot another car slot as well, by changing the handling line and such to a CVPI/Charger/FPIU handling setup.  Good way to make room for more cars.

Anyhow, good luck!

My question is what are the specs required to use all vehicles as els, because I see alot of people can use it on all police vehicles with no issues

Not without issue they don't.  You just don't see the crashes on youtube because they cut that part out of the vids.

I have a decent fast computer, Nvidia GTX 750 2gb, AMD FX eight core 3.8gb, 16gb RAM etc etc; I can run all my cars hi-poly with everything running ELS, but I start crashing after anywhere between 15-minutes and 45-minutes.  My game doesn't crash to desktop usually, but all the scripts stop working, including LCPDFR.

I have my EFLC version with many of the police cars ELS and hi-poly bx-buggs (not police or police2 though - hi-poly but non-els in those slots), and all ancillary scripts like Police Helper, VPCallouts, Callouts+ etc etc...it runs anywhere from 35min-2hours without issue.

My GTAIV version is base LCPDR and only mid-low poly DFS cars and no ELS, most scripts, and that game runs indefinitely.  I run CryENB (hi-end version) on both games.

So there is no computer not prone to crashing when running any mods with GTAIV...which is a sub-par port at best.

If you're talking about YouTubers. They have just as many crashes as non youtubers have. They're either A) edited clips or B) Got lucky and got the game running without lag and crashes for 20-30 minutes

Hmmm, odd, if the mod causes so many crashes, then why is the mod so popular, It dosent make any scense?

hopefully this wont be an issue in GTA V, because Rockstar improved the lighting system on police and emergency vehicles

Doesn't cause too many crashes if you know how to mitigate the mods that may cause issue in the first place (like ELS).   If you run a vanilla LCPDFR install (zero mods), you'll probably never crash.  Add ELS and car mods, you'll start crashing most likely.

In any event, the crashing doesn't make the game unplayable at all, as long as you're not crashing every few minutes.  If you want all the goodies and eye candy, this is what you deal with.

The LCPDFR mod is the best ever made for GTAIV IMO, and if you don't mod it, it will be fairly stable and crash free, for the most part.  If it crashes, just restart it and you're back in and takin' down perps in a few minutes time...or the auto save will just spawn you as a cop with your cruiser, as it was prior to the crash...not a big problem.

Besides, seems to me after the first crash, my game will go for 2-hours+ without issue...not sure why, but more stable after the initial crash most times.

I wasn't talking about LCPDFR, I was talking about ELS. LCPDFR is perfectly fine the way it is right now

  • 4 weeks later...

I want to know what are the proper specs to run ELS V8 with no issues so I can know if I need to do some tweaking to me pc, or to get a new one.

I think that it can run on any PC, until you have integrated Intel 1000 graphics with no dedicated graphics which my laptop had.

I can run GTA IV with 65+ Fps with this config:

Intel Core i5 4440

ASUS GeForce GTX 750 TI

8GB RAM

1TB Hard Drive

I run with many scripts and car mods. I can tell which ones if you want so.

PLEASE CONTINUE LCPDFR DEVELOPMENT!!!!!

And make sure if you crash using ELS, in ELS.ini file, you have Ai_Els_Sp and Ai_Els_Mp set to off.

i.e, in els.ini find "Ai_Els_Sp" and "Ai_Els_No". If after the lines if is "= on", change it to "= off". This turns off the ELS for the ai cop cars. This may reduce lags and crashes.

What all mods do you have installed? As said before, chances are it isn't ELS that is causing your game to crash or whatever your issue is because ELS is a fairly minor mod in terms of usage. The more mods you have, the more likely you are to crash.

right now, im only Using ELS on the Noose Cruisers, Police Stockades, ambulance, Fire truck, FIB cruiser and the airport taxis, and so far, the mod is working great for me! Just not using it on Police 1 and 2.
