I usually enjoy creating a fictional LCPD with custom fictional skins and units. It's usually a nice break from trying to adhere to NYPD style units. If you do want to take a break from LCPDFR, I'd recomend Emergency 3 or 4. They are both RTS(ish) games that put you in control of police, fire and EMS in a city. However, there are mods that change the setting to Los Angeles or Brussels or London etc.

I guess it's an anti-stealing measure, as long as the car is saved other players won't be able to drive it.

You can save the car with SNT and then lock it remotely if you wanted.

Nope, as long as you don't save your car.

Get into the car you want to lock, open "car options". Hit "save car".

Then, get out, walk away and then select "lock car doors" in the same menu.

Go to your other car and there you have it. If you really wanted to, you could turn off the engine, disabling the car from moving once someone has got in it.

I use it online all the time. Anyone can drive it.

Also thats kind of what they want to happen. They are creating bait cars for criminals to try and steal, once the criminal is in the car they go ahead and arrest them. The car not moving would be a added bonus.

I use the 911 First Responders version with the LA mod, it's a great way to blow a whole day, not just a few hours. lol.

Here is what I do.

1. Get a trooper skin along with noose cruiser. It'd be good if you have some state police as noose cruiser. Get on highways and target people with dashcam's radar. Who goes over speed limit (more than 5 km/h than allowed) boom, speeding ticket. I am also using hardcore mode so sometimes I get a few surprises like chase, shootout and/or arrest warrants.
   
2. Get whatever skin you wish along with unmarked car. I prefer using traffic unit. I do the same thing as number 1.
   
3. Get unmarked car and fbi guy. Respond to shootouts and drug deals. You might want to "provoke" some chase by "annoying" people with pressing Shift to do a traffic stop and then to cancel it. You use hard weapons like m4 and mp5.
   
4. Get a trooper skin along with noose cruiser. Do the same missions as number 3, just you have the option to use two weapon "packets". First one is standard (pistol and shotgun) and second one is heavier (m4 and mp5). Same can be applied with Noose Response Team, just use Patriot or unmarked car.
   
5. Go in rough neighborhoods and start frisking people. Get your tazer ready. If needed, use deadly force. :)
   

That'd be mostly it. I don't know how you can patrol without a car and have fun with it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you can only frisk people and use animations such as radio or coffee to make it lil nicer? What else you can do that is fun while on foot?

Also using first person driver mod is pretty cool.

definately patrolling prostitution areas...thats actually very fun and a nice break from traffic stops
