Hey guys been hooked on LCPDFR since I got it 5 days ago, and have browsed the downloads section high and low and have many cars to install. I know how to install them and they do play in game. 

 

My question is example (LA County SD CVIP and CHP CVPI) both from same author and both model the same vehicle. How can I install both without overwriting the other and having the LASD or CHP version? I want to have the car with both liveries installed. 

 

I searched YouTube but they just keep showing how to install one vehicle which I already know how to do, nowhere does anyone explain what to do when you have multiple liveries.

Take the LA County vehicle and replace it with 'Police.'

 

Next, take the CHP vehicle and replace it with 'Police2' (You'll probably need to rename both files)

 

 

For different liveries I recommend Spark IV, all you need to do i hover over the "police_sign_1" or whatever the first livery is and put it as the LA SD you want, then on the same vehicle you get the CHP Livery and hover over "police_sign_2" or whatever its labeled, and then you replace them so they have both liveries, you also need to make sure in the vehicles ide. it has +livery at the end of the vehicle you have multiple liveries for. But then again. this is for both liveries in ONE SLOT ONLY as in both in "police"

I actually never understood the "rename" part. I installed cars named 'fbi' in noose/police slots, or 'polpatriot' in nstockade, or 'police' in pstockade without needing to rename anything, since Open IV just replaces the files without changing the name of the replaced file. Mind enlightening me on that point?

Well some people don't always use Open IV, they use Spark IV, I personally use both, but then again, both have their downs and ups.

for example take police file and right click and go down to rename  and you can type in police 2 to rename and hit enter

make sure you rename both files

If it's multiple liveries your after, instead of multiple models, you can open the ".wtf" file, and replace one texture slot with the desired texture.  Then, you can add "+livery" at the end of the line of the vehicle in vehicles.ide to enable GTA IV to use the installed liveries.

Alittle late to the club but what would you do for original files? I'm trying to retexture the original PD Units with the Alderney State Trooper Pack but I don't want to remove the LCPD Units (Using Area Livery Mod and want to actually change Alderney Units to ASP) I have both OpenIV and SparkIV
