[WIP] "MyNYPD UHD" - An Ultra High Definition Texture Megapack

Regardless, you can't use more than one 4K texture on a model at time unless you want to nuke your game. Yes, they do look good but they're extremely impractical. I tend to make all my textures in 4K and downsize them back to standard resolution, as this allows me to copy parts over to different templates without having to worry about parts becoming pixelated upon resizing.

Thanks for the feedback. I am including regular resolution textures as well, so it is not a pack of purely 4K textures, which would be pretty ridiculous, I agree. I will also warn people to only use one 4K texture on one model so their game doesn't crap out.

Good luck, as a graphic designer I am really pissed of by pixelated textures ingame^^

Buuuut, as many saids, I hope you'll not nuke the game because of too heavy files

GTAIV is really beautiful with mods but dont' really support them correctly... San andreas was paradise for modding ^^

Additional updates:

Rear unit markings have been fixed since I had the passenger side markings reversed. Also, as I begin to prepare for the first exams of the semester, progress will be slowing down quite a bit, but I'll try my best to get the pack out soon (late February, early March I'm hoping).

Ok, quick little update here guys. Unfortunately, no screens to show off. Just wanted to let people know that I did not forget about this project. I've been busy with school and trucking through these last few months before graduation. On top of that, I recently got a new computer...so that means downloading and reinstalling a crap load of mods, so I apologize for the awfully slow progress. "I swear on me mum," this won't become vaporware. Trust me, I know what it feels like when a mod you're interested in never gets done and I can assure you that this won't happen.

I just wanna say I'm glad you're working on this. As a resident NY-er myself, this is a project I've been wanting to tackle for a long time, but have never had the time to do. In my opinion we've long needed proper NYPD skins in this community, and yours by far are the only ones so far that meet my absurdly high standards for accuracy in this regard. I'm stoked to see the rest of this pack finished. Also, it's too bad we don't have a proper Fusion to work with (or Escape).

Keep it up! I'll be watching this project like a hawk.

The textures look great. I'll be glad when I'm able to replace the standard textures with these ones. Keep up the work.

This is an idea that I've been toying around with for a long time now and I have finally decided to go through with it. My goal for this megapack is to create accurate, ultra high definition textures (4K resolution) for a large variety of vehicles featuring the New York City Police Department. This is quite easily the largest project that I have started, so it is going to take a while. Between classes and other commitments, I anticipate this taking at least a month.

Textures in this pack will be specifically optimized for the vehicles linked. Below is a general "development map" of the megapack. I will possibly be adding more vehicles as I go along, depending on the availability and time (PS: If anyone knows of a good ELS, NYPD spec Ford Police Interceptor, please let me know). As it stands, there will be a total of 35 skins. Multiple unit numbers will be provided as long as the model supports it. Because running with UHD textures can cause texture loss and memory loss, I will also include "standard" resolution textures for lower end systems.
