    Hello all,
As I'm sure many have noticed, we've had a few more changes in the Community Team recently.  With the site continuing to evolve with GTA V and the onset of LSPDFR, we found it necessary to take a step back and examine everything from a high-level perspective.
To start with the good news, two of our moderators have returned from retirement!  @c13 has completed military training and is now back on the team as a Community Moderator.  While he is still stationed at an army base, his schedule allows him to return and we are all extremely excited to have him back.  In addition, @Original Light has also returned!  Retiring a little while ago for personal reasons, OL is very much back and is again a part of the Community Team as a Community Moderator.  I hope everyone will join me in welcoming them back to the team!
In more solemn news, we also have a couple retirements.  As previously mentioned, we have retired the Dutch forum.  As the sole Dutch Forum Moderator, @SuperStumpje has retired from the Community Team as his forum is no longer around.  Since none of us can speak Dutch, his help was essential to properly maintaining that forum and we wish him the best.  In terms of advisors, @Sgt.Kanyo has retired as a Community Team Advisor.  He joined the team a long time ago, during a time where modding tensions were extremely tense and his help was immeasurable during that period.  In a bittersweet shift through time, tensions have died down incredibly and unfortunately that also means that the amount of work available for Kanyo has faded as well.  He will continue to be ever present in the modding forums, and also working on his famous IV handling lines.
In terms of the community as a whole, we have some exciting things planned in the future to continue to expand the options available to our members.  One such aspect is a modding news system, where we can provide updates for LSPDFR and also provide news stories right from our very own members.  For now we will be having our very own @penguin2254 in the Community Team working on news stories.  The actual staffing position may vary over time, as the idea is new and we need to ensure a proper fit.  I won't go into detail now for the rest of the things we have planned as it is too early, but we do indeed have some very fun things planned and we hope to shed light on them over the next few months.
To address the elephant in the room, LSPDFR is still coming along very nicely and as always we will work to bring you a usable mod as soon as we can.  The best I can say is that it will be released "soon," although everyone will undoubtedly have a different opinion of what soon means.  Please continue to check the LSPDFR Updates and Information forum for updates.

You'll probably see vehicle modifications and the like a lot sooner than script modifications.

It's impossible to go back to what it was. We're using IPS4 now, and we won't change that. You'll need to get used to the change, at the moment it is unfamiliar, that's all. We are working as fast as we can to get the site back to look normal, but for now, this is what we have. I think it's unfair to start creating polls that we need to go back in time to what once was. This is the future :)

Hello all. The other night I realized how fun it was to attempt to "chase paper," or serve warrants, and attempt to locate wanted people. I was wondering if someone would maybe be able to make an API script where you would go to an address or location and attempt to serve papers and arrest said wanted person. My apologies if this is in the wrong section or has already been suggested. Thank!

Not really; the only lightbar the CHP actively uses(on new and refitted vehicles) is the Whelen Liberty.
They also use the FedSig vision on their older vehicles but are retiring or refitting most of them by now.

As for slicktops, standard equipment aswell with the Whelen Raider and a rear deck I cannot remember. All in all though, 4 or so pieces of lighting isn't necessarily a lot lol.

There are some show vehicles and stuff with other equipment but they don't really stand for saying much as it isn't a fleet equipment order.

@OP, there are a few unlocked CHP vehicles released so try looking there or try learning. All the modules used are available unlocked just a matter of learning and referencing pictures; the lightbar is fairly complicated but cool.

There's no application process or anything. We pick staff when we decide we need staff; we then choose based on our impressions of who'd make a good staff member. The only way to become staff is to be notably helpful and mature, and in general be a good member of the community, to the point where someone brings up your name when we brainstorm possible staff. Asking to become staff is pretty much going to DQ you.

On another note, why are you still using SparkIV when OpenIV is vastly superior?

just a quick suggestion: try making cars with all the dev parts avaideble and show the community how good you really are, then maybe people will give you unlocked parts (I said maybe).

its normal that experianced modders wont give out models they have paid for, converted and templated to just another random dude who has nothing released (no offense)

In a continuation of our efforts to increase the effectiveness of the Community Team and moderation efforts, we have added MichaelV to the team.  Michael has been around the site for almost three years now and has continuously contributed to the community throughout his time here.  I am extremely confident that Michael will be an excellent addition to the team, and I hope everyone will join me in congratulating him and welcoming him to the team.  Michael will be in training for a few days before being integrated slowly into forum moderation.  He will be guided by myself and the rest of the Community Team during these next few weeks.  Still on the topic of staffing, Illusionary has rejoined the team after a short break.  As a key part of our team, we are very glad to have him back and we all look forward to many more months with him onboard.  ineseri has temporarily stepped up to the role of Assistant Community Manager, my old role, as I am currently filling in for Sam in his absence.  Sam is deeply involved with university work and will be away frequently for the next couple weeks.  We're doing our best to ensure that the site is not in any way affected by his absence.

Moving on to a more melancholy topic, we have also had both a retirement and role change within the team.  Yard1 has retired from the team after joining a year and a half ago.  He made many contributions to the team and we are sorry to see him go.  We wish him the best in his future endeavors and hope to continue to see him around the site.  NicolaiB has changed roles on the team, and is now a Community Team Advisor.  NicolaiB has been around the site for many years and has been a driving force behind it for just as long.  We hope to see him around for many more years to come as well, and look forward to his continued involvement with the team.  JAM-Justin35 retired as a moderator a couple months ago and moved into an Advisor role.  Justin has an extensive history with the site as well, and has been incredibly instrumental throughout his entire time here.  Justin was always one to say things as they were and his frequent advice has helped to keep the entire Community Team on track many times.  Pursuing his love of firefighting, Justin has found his passion and excelled at his new career.  We wish him the best with everything and hope to see him around.

To end the topic on a lighter note, I would just like to briefly mention that we are gearing up for the release of GTA V next month (barring more delays).  In addition, we hope to begin upgrading the site to IPS version 4 in the coming months (this is the software our site is built on).  This upgrade will modernize the site in many ways and we hope it will bring a breath of fresh air to the site, and the community as a whole.  I won't go into detail but we have some neat plans for the site and I hope everyone is as excited we are about the future.

    Malediction.

RobotCarlos269 reacted to DivineHustle in LCPDFR Career Mod?
I've been thinking of ways LCPDFR could become more diverse in gameplay, and I came up with an idea. I'm not sure if anyone else has already proposed this suggestion, but I was thinking of something along the lines of an LCPDFR Officer Career Modification.

What this modification would do is allow you to create an officer at any Police station as you usually would, select a partner if wanted, and select the standard Vapid Cruiser (Police 1 slot). I will go over some of the implements in depth below.
Character creation screen will only appear once, you will be locked to that character for added realism. (With the option to reset) As you make arrests, give citations, and assist the people of Liberty City, you gain experience and cash. As you gain experience, you unlock vehicles, weapons, armor, and even the ability to be assigned your own partner. As you gain cash, you can use this cash to purchase weapons, purchase a new uniform, purchase armor, upgrade Police cruisers, etc. Starting the mod, you will begin as a standard uniformed officer. No partner, a nightstick and glock, and the standard Vapid Cruiser. As you gain experience and cash you will be able to purchase a new vehicle, purchase weapons, purchase visible armor, and request partner assistance. Beginning officers will only be able to take certain call-outs. As you rank up, your uniform will begin to have visible ranks on it.  Beginning officers can only call in regular backup. As you rank up, you can begin to call in paramedics, fire department, a chopper, and even a noose team. Beginning officers can only take certain call-outs. As you rank up, you can take more dangerous and deadly call-outs. Hurting other officers, breaking basic laws, and traffic violations will decrease your experience level. Has anyone thought of creating a mod like this? Would it be challenging to create this?
