Non-ELS lighting equipment..

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any Non-ELS lighting equipment like a Whelen Avenger or other such things for an undercover car I'm working on?

I have been looking throughout various websites and can only find ELS mapped ones. Also does anyone know how to change an object from zd3 form to wft form?

I'm guessing you mean you downloaded a development part that came in z3d format, right? If so, then you import this to Zmodeler by importing the textures like you normally would, then use File -> Merge and select the development part. Click "All" on the bottom of the screen that pops up, then "Merge."

As for non-ELS equipment, there isn't much but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to change an ELS part to non-ELS. It should just be removing the extra_#'s and properly placing the siren1/2/3/4 dummies.

I'll experiment with this now.

Yeah I have downloaded a few development parts, most of which come in wft format but there are a few still in z3d format.

Thanks for the tip with the lights!

This has helped quite a lot, cheers!

It's actually really easy to make it non-ELS. What I did here was take the >Whelen Avenger, remove extra_#_L0's, and move the extra_# blue box thing to the correct position on the Avenger. I then deleted the default siren1 and siren2, and renamed extra_#'s to siren1 and siren2 (or you could move the default siren# boxes to the appropriate positions). The lights are still in the grill but don't turn on because the model is part of the bodyshell, and I didn't feel like removing them.

Ah sweet! I get the hang of it now haha.

How would I go about making my own grill lights? I tried to pull some off one of Yard1's unlocked models but didn't realise they were apart of the body shell as well..  :wallbash:

You'd have to model them, then ELS map them. I believe there is a mapping tutorial in the tutorials section. Technically you could pull them off the bodyshell as well, just go into vertex mode and delete the entire bodyshell except for the light parts.
