Its been 6 months since it was officially announced. Although, its been in works for more than that. Last LCPDFR update was more than 1 and a half year ago. I guess the Dev team members have left the modding scene.

  • Just to let everyone know, we will be working on this as a team, all of us, after the release of 0.95, which won't be too far away.

  • The possibilities offered by this are only really restricted in terms of how much I can code in. Basically, you have a system where you are just drawing lights at a position within the game, so the t

really? r u sure of that. have u tested it before because in my mind it seems pretty logical

Since GTA IV was not integrated with mod editors everything takes a lot of time and skill (to make a proper mod).  This is even true about simple mods (which this is not).  It can be very time consuming and frustrating for authors.  Please bear in mind that everyone has lives outside of the internet (school/work, etc) so there are times when modders have some extra time to work on their projects and a lot may get done, hence you'll see various updates and then there are times when real life priorities hold precedence.  Sam and company do a lot of things behind the scenes to keep the site running smoothly and that takes a lot of time away from the modding,  Something that you guys may not know, but as every great modder does, there are times when the hours and hours of work and progress get trashed or gutted because something else works better or there is a decision to move in a different direction with the mod.  So then the process starts over (maybe some content is carried over), but it can set the mod back a lot.  This is a decision that the author will make because they feel that the changes are needed to make the best mod possible.  These are some of the reasons for the delay of  the release of this mod.  I'm sure Sam is still working on this, as there is a lot of excitement over this mod and maybe now as the schools start getting out he may get more time to spend on this.

Of course we all have real life responsibilities to take care of. I just said that because the time being taken is a bit too much even if the real life is taken into account. Its actually comparable to R* making and polishing GTA:V. Of course they are paid in full and hence work hours on it. But even if we eliminate that fact, there's still room for us to ask for updates. More than 1 and a half year for a script mod? I say that is a bit too much  Especially when the staff are getting stable enough copies to show it off on their YT channels for a couple months now.

Youtube-quality != release quality. Just like demo-quality != release quality. Scripting in particular takes very much time and debugging. I can say that the devs are in fact actively working on LCPDFR; no public version doesn't mean there aren't testing versions. Sadly, testing versions aren't necessarily release-quality (hence the testing).
