I don't see you, nor any group corresponding to you there, so it seems fairly safe to assume you were let go :)

 

On a more serious note, I'll definitely be adding in some way of recognising individual contributions.  The one thing I was thinking of was finding a tasteful way to implement a panel, inspired by an LCPD style badge, to display these at the side of posts.  Of course the emphasis is on tasteful, and it wouldn't really look like a badge, but you get the idea:

 

1. User avatar (I think we call these display pictures now in the new Facebook/Twitter world) (this would roughly represent the actual badge)
2. Member group/staff stuff (A large medal/ribbon below the badge)
3. Any awards, merits or other recognition (In the form of smaller medals/ribbons)

To give you an idea of what this might look like:

 

 

Of course, I might try to work out a few different variations of this style, and if there is demand for it, I will experiment with trying to make it more closely resemble an actual police badge (like maybe we can do member registration ID numbers as badge numbers and such).

 

Certainly a lot to think about regarding this, but yes, I'm always a fan of doing things to make our site that bit more special.

Some of you might have noticed that there is a little bit more information being displayed beside your name at the side of posts, as well as other changes like staff titles and us making use of the country profile field for the first time.  Just now, this is simply to allow for changes to a test environment where we have a new user info panel concept up and running.  It is in no way representative of anything that is planned.  You'll be able to try this shortly.

About these proposed new groups, I'm not a fan of them to be honest. I don't mind the existing structure as it promotes an equal playing field.

They are implemented now. The new user avatars are in now. Wow, it looks so different.

Wonder how mine looks like. Wow, looks wonderful. But they're a bit.... HUGE.... Small versions of these would look great.

EDIT: What are the numbers tho? Can't figure it out.

Sorry spreilly. I just realized that my post was misleading :/

I meant about the new avatars.

Those numbers are your Member ID. It's the same number that is on the link of your profile. They go in order of registration.

The new groups won't be implemented as said before by Iconography, but we're exploring additions to the new user info pane (with the badges) to add recognition for things like registration date and such.
