New ELS Version?

Featured Replies

Are there any news towards a new version of the ELS mod? Currently downgraded to ELS v5 for better stability. But i really miss a new patch, so that AI can use ELS without crashing the game..

Have done much research myself to the bug, and i have not found any real good reason for the mod to crash the game, except when using LCPDFR mod with it. Thats really a shame :) Those two mods would be perfect together, to get the realism feel that LCPDFR and ELS creates together.

Best regards

LCPDFR Is meant to run on a Clean, non modded version of GTA IV or EFLC, When ELS crashes the game, It has nothing to do with LCPDFR, It has to do whith ELS, Anywho, Luxart is the creator of the mod, Lt.Caine was the main creator (If I remember correctley) He Kinda took a break/left modding for Other reasons, So no, I highly doubt there will be a new version of ELS any time soon, Unless Lt. Cain comes back to modding and decides to make a new version.

Lt.Caine was the only Author of ELS and Luxart was his brand name, he has left modding due to career reasons.

I hope he returns one day in the future though, he is the highest respected modder in my opinion for his mods of perfection.

Caine produced some very high quality vehicles, and a wide range, not just police vehicles, it is a shame that he decided to leave the modding scene.

He was the author of ELS, so that project died when he left, I am not aware of anyone taking over the project, although someone could experiment and make their own ELS system.

The way ELS works, by adding the lights as extra objects on the vehicle, is far from ideal, that's why the pushbars flashes if you've ever tried to enable ELS on the default cop cars.

Someone attempted to do it differently a while ago with the "illumination" mod, that proved to be a bit of a faff to get set up, and ELS were already widely adapted.

Would be nice to get some greenlight to try to do some editing on the ELS mod, and try to find a solution to make it stable.

Not ideal with all the objects spawning for sure... Creates alot of objectspawn errors even with only one vehicle ingame.. But i guess there is no other way to do it unless you could separate the

"lights" from the car model, so that the doors work. But thats a longshot :)

Better wait for GTA V, and hope for some advanced lights engine :)

I think it would be pretty great to enable AI to use secondary lights as well as a way to make default patterns for each car. Unfortunately, ELS is dead unless a miracle happens and Cain comes back.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

True. Default patterns is what i miss the most with the ability for AI to use it.. The AI seem to change the pattern everytime a policecar appears..

Let's hope for a miracle :)
