Crash due to too many modded cars

Featured Replies

Hey guys, a while ago I had a problem with LCPDFR. The game would crash after approximately 10 minutes. I got help from one of you on this site ('?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>) and he came to the conclusion that the game crashed because I had too many modded cars ('' Yup, there's the generic C0000005 error code. It's probably because of there being too many car mods.''). He then recomended me to cut down on the modded cars. However as it turns out to be my computer aparently cannot handle any modded cars. I tried to play with only police and police2 modded (and ELS) but again the game would crash after a while. Now I would really like to be able to play with modded cars and ELS. I do not know a lot about computers so I am asking you: what should I do or what should I get in order to be able to play with at least two modded cars and ELS? Thank you!

Specs:

I run windows 7.

AMD A10-6800K APU with Radeon HD Graphics 4.10GHz

8192MB RAM

DirectX 11

Have you tried reinstalling? If you go to www.canyourunit.com and type in grand theft auto iv, it will tell you if you can run it.

There isn't really a fix, it doesn't matter if your PC can or cannot handle modded cars. If you put modded cars in then you're risking a crash, if you have too many high poly cars in one area that'll cause a crash. Modded cars use way more resources than a stock standard IV car.. which GTA IV can't handle because it's using up resources.

The only way you can fix the crash is to don't use modded cars, or find low-poly cars.

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

Yeah I have. Then it works fine (on low settings) if I don't use any modded cars.

Okay thanks. So how do I know when a car is high poly or low?

The less extra pieces and parts on the car, the less polygon count (most likely)

For example, the default LCPD stock police car(s), If you were to download an NYPD version with almost the same texture and technically the same design/car structure, it's a low poly car.

Or you could just open the model in OpenIV and see "Polygons" at the top left, compare them to the default cars.

Speaking of what I said, I recommend this pack of cars, I use them and I get no crashing issues as well as no more SMPA60
