HOW ABOUT THIS: HOW ABOUT YOU TRY MODDING. YOU MIGHT LIKE IT. I AM IN THE WIP OF DOING A 2013 EXPLORER BUT THERE IS NO CHANGE FROM 2013-2015 Exept an new Grill option.

I kinda am learing to mod..I am Starting off very simple like a crown vic...and a few things have been changed in the 2015 Ford Explorer.

LOL its just a grill, slap it on a explorer and boom 15 Explorer.

Wish it was that Easy...

.com is the most disturbing place for those of us who hate mods getting ripped.

Yeah...Sadly...

There is now a .WFT unlocker...so I don't think developers want to release any new models.

Why has the Grand Theft Auto IV Community Come to this...Sadly there might not be any new models..  :wallbash:

With that being said about the .wft unlocker, if I'm not mistaken..You have to reconvert it as it takes to .obj format..I guess the upside to this is that people who do rip it don't really know how to convert or are just too lazy...

Nope it simply stays as a .WFT. You can either import it into ZModeler or 3Ds Max with the new .WFT importer. A lot has been going on in the background of the modding community that no one knows about.

Excuse me sir....EA is a terrible company. We rip from them because they rip from us!

Edited by MFDHoward

It's not like we only rip from EA. And just because we think (yes I do too) that EA is a kind of greedy company, won't make it okay to rip it. Or if it's okay, then it should be okay all around. That's just my 2 cents.

Ripping from EA is one thing but ripping from our community is disruptive and disrespectful. You know what people do when they want the rights to use something? They buy it. You want the rights to use a unlocked model or something ask the creator if you can purchase a unlocked copy with rights for private use.

The difference is that major companies, such as EA, employ and pay people to make models whereas those who create models for the community are not payed for their work. I doubt paid employees care what happens after they've been paid, this cannot be said for those who volunteer their time into creating models which then get ripped.

Modding has never been about payment. And I know how talented people can be with 3D modelling, but that's nothing compared to what game developers do. They produce a whole game; yes as a team; but a game usually takes at least a year to make, and I'm pretty sure they make models like we do in a few days. (sometimes in minutes if you look at laser scanning method)

Modding is not even strictly speaking legal, since we are modifying a content we did NOT make. Even the idea, that we'd ask payment for something like this, is ridiculous (ofcourse in my opinion).

There are mods for the game Assetto Corsa that wants you to pay them, and trust me they get nothing, but hate for it. They are selling real life models, trying to profit from a game they haven't made, or a company whose cars they made without permission. The only reason they don't get sued right away is because they use non-existing brand names and non-existing sponsor decals on the car, however I still believe this would be illegal (since the cars do look the same).

Anyway if the author wanted to make profit out of his 3D models (which is totally acceptable), he could very much do that without charging the modding community, by uploading his 3D models on a site that sells 3D models. If you take a look at SNT, I mean how complex it is, that must have required a lot of work to make, but still the author never even thought about asking money for it; hell not even for donation.

Ps.: Sorry for the long story lol
