Bad Year for the Mounties...

Featured Replies

As I'm sure everyone has already heard of the 3 RCMP Officers that were killed in New Brunswick this year, now in the last 2 or 3 months 2 more have died by suicide, those who are familiar with the Tim Mclean beheading in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba (my hometown) one of the first on scene Mounties committed suicide (shot himself) shortly after the the beheading suspect was granted day parole to go around the town the Selkirk, Manitoba, unsupervised, now a few days ago the Mountie that was fired from the RCMP for smoking prescribed Marijuana in his Red Serge uniform committed suicide.

That would make 5 that I know of this year alone.

Comitting suicide just because you got fired sounds a bit excessive in my opinion...

He had PTSD..

In that case he should have been followed by a specialist.

You know how many cops have PTSD that don't get the proper support they need? FYI this topic isn't about him needing help with PTSD....

Well, I'm pretty sure that if he had that support, he wouldn't have reached such extreme limits, so by a matter of fact, him needing help is a part of the topic.

No it isn't, don't pretend to know what your talking about.. if it was a part of the topic, I would have brought it up, clearly your trying to get the last word so please, see yourself out, please.

Sheesh, do you need to be so aggressive just because someone has a different opinion from yours? I don't think so. You post on a forum, you should expect people to give their opinion. I don't think I've lacked of respect so far, I just exposed my opinion with arguments, while on your end you just answered by "shush it I'm right, get lost". What I'm pointing at is that if this guy had some support from a professional for his PTSD, he probably wouldn't have gone that far to the point to end his own life. The system is at fault there for not taking care of this poor guy. If you created this topic only to state that they are deceased, I'm sorry to inform you that we can see that in the news by ourselves, and that thousands of people die in dramatic circumstances everyday. But I believe you posted here to discuss it, so expect to have opinions different from yours instead of immediately going agressive for no reason.

You don't have the right to tell other member's where they can and can't post or what they can and can't post, so please don't.

As a matter of fact there is no direct topic in this thread, you listed some deaths....where is the discussion topic? Are we talking about how many cops die? Or are we talking about the RCMP specifically? I see nothing wrong with others questioning the deaths you listed or the reasoning behind those deaths. That to me is on topic.

That's pretty sad for a department to lose so many officers in such a short period of time and in the manner they died. May they rest in peace hope the department is providing support to the other officers
