LCPD FR vs PPM question.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am quite new here and have been trying to do my best figuring evertyhing out on my own. And this I just can't really seem to find an answer for. Whether I download the LCPD FR mod or the PPM mod I can have the same police cars in both correct?

Ex: I download LCPD FR and download a NYPD skin cruiser.

If I were to download the PPM mod could I still use the same cruiser. I hope my question makes sense. Bascially I just want to know if it matters what GTA Police mod I get, if it affects the vehciles.

Thanks.

Again sorry if that's rambling at all.

LCPDFR allows you to play as a cop, with the original vehicles if you wish. You can download vehicles separately and install them yourself, but LCPDFR will not do this for you. You have to manually do it.

In simple words,LCPDFR is just supposed to "make" you a cop for the LCPD.And thats why it has someting to do with YOU.It doesn't care about cars.Use whichever you like.

What are the differences, I know FR seems to run better then I remember PPM running, but I like some of the calls like Offiicer in Need of Assistence, in PPM, but still FR I think is scripted better, what do you guys thing?

PPM has less support as the developer of that mod rarely visits his site. Also,he works on PPM only in his free time and that's what has further downgraded PPM from the position it deserved.PPM has some amazing features no doubt, but the lack of support and upgradation (of the product),most people avoid it--myself included.Last I knew was version 7.6d and that too crashed my game more often. That too was a long time ago.Now the site seems deserted and almost nobody visits it.PPM is now a thing of past.I don't see PPM's future any bright with IV.

Without any bias, I came here from PPM.

PPM is a fun mod, not something aimed to be halfway realistic; it gets annoying fast, if you get assaulted by 4 guys with rpgs in cognoscentis every second time you arrest someone. Although this sounds bad, PPM is good in it's own way, it has a lot of missions and is probably a lot of fun, if you don't care about the obvious unrealism.

LCPDFR is aimed to be more realistic. In my opinion it's much more fun, you have a working taser and a nice non-els lighting system. The fact that we have a very limited amount of callouts, has been improving since the beginning of the 0.95 developement.

Due to the graphic nature of this post, reader discretion is advised.

Pretty much what has allready been said by everyone else as the reasons why I prefer LCPDFR. But also PPM for me had way too much text stuff happening on the screen. At any moment I was expecting a text message on screen to say "you have opened the door to your cruiser"

But it's personal opinion. PPM is a good mod but LCPDFR has far the greater long term appeal.
