(Philadelphia Police Brutality :0)

It doesn't matter whether you walk the beat or not, you're allowed to critize people neverthless. Sure, I can understand some actions taken by cops when they bend the rules but that don't mean I accept it all. Especially serious misconducts. If we're talking about peace officers, even more so. Those guys are supposed to maintain order and enforce the laws, not break them.

FYI; I'm not talking about the small use of force during an arrest which was done within the rights but stuff like the beatings, bad shootings. That kinda stuff.

  • Maybe Philly cops and LAPD should get together, have a party. They'd make a good couple.

  • BBcode again bud ;) lol   But they aren't called the Punk Police Department for nothing.  That's what happens when you give hungry little shits power, authority, a gun, and an army of minions. Wors

  • MODERATOR NOTICE Can you please post your videos in spoiler tags next time?

lol, okay buddy. You must be an internet super cop? And i'm obviously a member on LCPDFR who uses the mod...I hate cops so much don't I? lol. And you should revise your grammar before posting shit that looks like a 12 year old typed it. lol. I'm out!

You do realize LAPD is (argueably) the most dangerous department to work in? I don't know where you live, but unless it's LA the police you see are way different. LA is so stricken with gun and crime that officers are forced to be dicks to just about everyone. It's how they survive that place. I don't work for LAPD, but in this line of work you learn to respect those that do. Is there corruption, brutality, etc. Yes. To sit behind a computer and critisize it without working a day on the beat is ignorant.

A side note, the first video I watched wasn't brutality at all, you can't see what the suspect did to cause that. We are allowed to hit people you realize. I didn't watch the rest of the videos because I don't really have the time. It happens, but often times citizens perceive it to be brutal without knowing common police practices. So they label it brutal and get their buddies to do it too. You guys should actually attend some classes on use of force for police. I think you'd be surprised. Or better yet, walk into a situation not knowing if you'll walk out. Sitting behind a computer and pointing out everything they do wrong..... when in reality I'd bet most of you would shit yourselves at the stuff these guys have dealt with. (Especially LAPD).

End rant.

Here's a hint kid, police don't get "scared" or decide not to do their jobs because of threats. Telling us we won't do something, if it's our job because we will get shot... That's a C felony. Ive had my life threatened in this line of work, many times. I dont know if you're some kid who is trying to put down officers or what. Police officers react to whay you do, if you do something that warrants us hitting you, bringing you to the ground, shooting you. We don't fear the repurcussions. You should think a little bit more before you post such stupid shit.

I wouldn't call it brutality necessarily- without knowing the full story you simply can't. If the PPD have been trained to be more heavy handed in certain situations then you will see that they receive these kinds of allegations.

The first video for example, that IC3 they were restraining could have pulled a weapon out on the officer when he swung his arm upwards. It's not brutality, it's the officers making sure they don't end up with a knife in their stomach.

Of course, there will be 'brutality' when a cop comes to the end of their tether. But like anything people are too soft now and will react to anything they feel is wrong.

I feel like I should also add that there are bad eggs in every job, and it will be those ones that get videoed.

So you thought it was necessary for that cop to hit him in the face while he was already handcuffed? im not taking sides the first vid its not alot going on but i think it was not necessary for that cop to hit him in the face while already handcuffed.

Actually, buddy. I work in law enforcement. For real, not in a video game. You'd be suprised how many people are on this website that don't respect the police. My grammar, you just started a sentence with the word and, yet it's my grammar. Okay.

You're thinking wrong. A fellow officer of mine got his nose broken when someone headbutted him while he was handcuffed. If the guy started moving and yelling or anything that could make someone reasonably think he was still violent, you can use force. Learn the use of force continuum.

Sure, you are allowed to critise, no doubt. If citizens couldn't critise we wouldn't get better and the bad apples we do have would never get caught. I'm just saying the majority of people don't understand how police work in the first place, and in LA it really is a much different story. Traffic stops have citizens throw the keys out the window most times, that would never happen here. Also, I'm glad we cleared it up about how insane the beatings are etc. They happen, it's just most people will call brutality on just about anything these days. Without really understanding how it works.

Yeah, I get what you mean with that. A lot of people are often too quick to jump in and judge the police for the slightest thing they do. Sometimes you really just need to try and figure situations from the LEO's POV too and understand why they did what they did. Even then some don't care though. Glad to see we however came to an understanding!

Kinda reminded me of this OIS where the police capped that perp with garden scissors. You know, after the taser had been ineffective. People just wanted to see those cops fry even though they did their job correctly. Pathetic.

lol man, i didn't come on here to argue or anything. Just stated my opinion as you did yours. Just wish the good cops would get more recognition than the bad ones. By all means, I support LE 100%, i'm a criminal justice major, and want to become a Police Officer when i'm done with my degree in 2 years. No hard feelings, I know I came off douchey, hope you can forgive me for that. Be safe out there man..

Fair enough, good luck with your degree. Your world will open up after the academy. And thanks.

Exactly right, you gotta do what you gotta do. A split second decision that will be judged for the rest of your life.

Keep in mind- there are police tactics to control people which include hitting, kicking and generally hurting them. If a person is resisting arrest you have every right under the sun to hurt them as long as you can justify it.

In addition, even a move of a muscle during gunpoint surrounded by officers can be taken as a threat, you can get shot for it. As a law enforcement official, you have many ways to act and respond to taken moves with the right equipment and style. You must balance both defence and offense, but at times, you would need to act quick on the second someone prevents you from doing your job properly. By that, it's meant that you pull out a pepper spray for a resisting, tazer for an evasion, and your lethal weapon for an assault.

We are the police."

Cops aren't painting a bad image anymore, they have a bad image & American cops are violent as fuck for whatever reason, an HRP Officer shot a ladiesdog & DROVE it to the vet in his squad car..

Cops give themselves a bad name.

you can't see what the suspect did to cause that

The suspect had a gun in his waist band. You can hear the officer yelling at the mother saying that is why he did what he did.

Last time I checked use of force policy it allowed a Peace Officer to use reasonable force. An appropriate level of force needed to gain compliance.

The suspect had been handcuffed with his hands positioned behind his back with officers still holding his arms. Punching him in the face twice and calling him a pussy is not reasonable. In fact its assault considering the suspect was passively restraint.

No excuses, no exceptions. Hold yourself to a higher standard and don't defend these actions.

It happens all the time in my city just wanted to see if you people out there know this is happening and how you feel about this Department, Keep in mind The FBI also said the PPD is the most corrupt Police department in the U.S

Clearly you a Philadelphia Police Department hater,   clearly something did not go your way and your are now out to bash the Department

Philly is also my city

It is no where near as bad as you are making it out to be, my family aloso know's a bunch of Philly cop's and firefighter's,  Hope you don't need them anytime soon if you did and I could I'd tell them to, I'd tell them to  not bother showing up where you need them

Philadelphia Police Department is not as bad as this op is making them out to be

This is fucking shocking. This is police brutality on a whole new level. I mean ripping a guy's nut off? Aswell as getting shot for no reason...Lmfao

Maybe you should check it again. I know it, I've been trained on it. Just because someone is handcuffed does not mean they're safe, nor does it mean they're compliant. You don't know what he did from the angle of the video. He could have spit at the cop, he could have tried biting him, he could have been pulling off trying to escape, we don't know. All the while, why don't you let the adults decide what assault is before you start portraying us your lawyer knowledge as well.

No excuses, no exceptions. Learn the law and police practices before you critisize. I'm amazed that people like you belong to such a group. People that do this shit are perfect examples of people that don't have the guts to do the job. Keep critisizing behind your computer screen.

Philadelphia Police Department is not as bad as this op is making them out to be

Lmao ima PPD hater?  Am not saying All PPD are bad cops but majority are corrupted but there still good cops i met just not alot and Just cuz u know a bunch of Philly cops how would you know there up to no good while on duty? Look at all the videos i post and your still not convince that there something fishy going on in the department but your entitle of your opinion so carry on..

Oh, i'm sorry, did I offend your delicate sensibilities? Don't try bullying me and don't give me that BS elitist attitude. If I was spit on could I punch the guy in the face for it? NO. What if I was bitten could I then retaliate by bouncing the guys head off of my trunk? NO.

"people like me"? What is exactly do you mean by that? You know nothing about me or my background. Is there a certain group or class of people you are categorizing me as that you consider offensive because they would like to see police be held accountable?

Calling it like I see it. The guy was wrong. Not every cop is a good cop and not every cop is a bad cop.

Lets provide some examples of when corruption is allowed to foster since you seem to believe that cops are infallible.

1. "Skull Cap Crew"

2. Detective Stephanie Lazarus

3. Justin Volpe

Are their actions justified because they had a badge?

I agree that cops work in grey area when making decisions, but don't act high and mighty because, at times, on a rare occasion its a dangerous job. And then use "danger" as an excuse for committing violence. No one makes any one stay in these positions against their will. If they don't like being cops then move on and let someone else do it.

Out of curiosity, do you mind specifying what department you work for, or whatever it's called? As in Sheriff's, etc.

This is seriously out of hand. I mean, if you want to beat people up, do it off duty. You shouldn't have to give a department a bad name because you hate someone.

Im just curious, which video were you referring to?
