More options for pursuits

Featured Replies

So instead of just be able to initiate a pursuit I think we should be able to terminate one as well. Just like in real life, if the suspect is driving too dangerously, there are too many civilians on the road or just terrible weather we should have the ability to terminate the chase. Which is where an BOLO can come in, like if you terminate it then dispatch puts out a general alert to all units across the map to be on the look out for say a red Feltzer and another unit spots him a few suburbs away then they can restart the pursuit and follow him while you catch up.

Just thought it could add some more realism. :)

That is a good idea.  Then we can keep an eye out for the vehicle/ped during the patrol duration.

The script would probably have to keep the vehicle/ped from de-spawning, but also removing the blip until the vehicle/ped is spotted by the police.

Wish I could script, would be a nice add on.

This would be nice to see in the future, doesn't sound like it would be too hard to implent neither. I'm no coder though.

It would be a very nice addition to the game.

That is exactly what I was thinking! Also if like you said vehicle/ped the suspect got out of the vehicle and was spotted trying to get into another one

I think the easiest way to make this work initially would be to break off every ground unit from the chase, but have the helicopter keep it in sight. So you can terminate it and lose the car forever if no air unit is up, or if one is up the chopper will follow only.

Although this is cool for realism, AI drivers are still going to be screwy.

I like this idea too. I hope someone can create a plugin for LCPDFR that would be able to make this happen.

A cop is no good if he refuses to lay down his life for the safety of others

It's even not necessary to keep the perp's car from respawning. Maybe it will be easier just to add a chance that an escaped perp may be later spotted by any of the patrol units?
