Does anyone else notice that hardcore mode in LCPDFR 1.0b has improved. I died 14 times in 12 minutes. Before I would never die in hardcore mode. But in 1.0b it blew my mind. It is very challenging. What are other people's opinions about it?

I don't think it's that deadly. The AI cops are deadly, that's how I get killed! They always run over me.

Both the suspect and the cops. EVERYTHING ABOUT GTA is deadly period.

I died getting rammed into the back of a police car by a normal driver at a gas station while getting health and ammo

Suspect(s) are deadly too, Especially on traffic stops when an old lady or other people have an Uzi. Or when your in Hove Beach or one of the other high gang areas.

Yea people go crazy and start shooting whenever I tase (taze?) a suspect.

That's why I installed Spitfire's Quiet Pedestrian Realism mod, The peds don't shout sexual stuff or dumb stuff and they don't get scared when the suspect gets tased. They still run during gunshots and fire fights. It also got embarrassing when mom or dad came in and the speakers would say ''Hey baby bend over let me see your ass.''

@^ I will have to try that. That's because the game identifies the taser as a gun or other weapon (it's an additional weapon)

Totally agree... my kids came in and this stuff was being played but after the mod it was way better...  now we need a mod to control the officer during traffic stops... real cops don't talk that way!...at least my dad didn't when he was on the force!

It gives the game that "everything can happen and you better watch your a*s" feeling.

For exemple:

 

I was stoping a vehicle that ALPR flaged as stolen.

I walked up to the drivers window and the guy was straight up shootong at me. I had no chance. Befor i could pull out my gun i was dead already.

 

I really like that. Makes you play a lot more carefully (at least for me)

Funny stuff though; "I'm a cop and your a dickhead!".  I crack up when my cop says that line after walking up to a car. 

 

In any event, hardcore mode is the way to go.  It can be tough to make through a day in LC sometimes without getting killed.

That happens to me too. Especially when I switch to aggressive tactics, then they don't care who gets killed in their way.

This thread makes me feel nice, it makes me feel like a pro.

I survived 3 in-game days before my game crashed.

The bonus was, I never let a cop, security guard, firefighter or paramedic die!

Every time I play someone dies.

Every time I play someone dies.

If I ever let a fellow member of the New York Emergency Services die, I feel uncontrollable amounts of guilt. Luckily, I never have, Hardcore and non-hardcore. One time a fat cop almost died, but the paramedics saved him luckily. From then on I've always kept a watchful eye over officers assisting me, so they remain okay.
