ELS 7 Cars

Featured Replies

Go to the PoliceHelper ini and edit the appropiate settings.

@kshark: That's not really relevant either, as they still build on the same principle: Reload the extras, reset the car, be invincible, flood GTA IVs already leaking memory.

  • I see absolutely nothing wrong with the vanilla lightning system, as it looks very realistic in the world of GTA IV, and may I say; The real world too.

  • I'm not sure what you mean. But, if you enjoy your doors flapping around, the fact that you can't die, and that your cars are invincible. Be my guest!

  • You can do that exact thing with the LCPDFR lightning modes.

Ineseri, I think Darkray347 is referring to the ELS Vanilla cars, the ones made by Pedro Rios here at LCPD:FR. Just search for Vanilla ELS X-Project 1.5

I thought els worked with every single police car out there. My bad haha

It is possible to change the light colors of Nicolai's car pack to red blue, there's already a texture provided. All you need to do is edit the wtd files of the car and replace the emerglight texture. The reflection colors can be cahnged in its ELS ini file, look for ENV_LIGHT_COLORS and change the values for extra_1 and 2 to red.

If you look for a different pack, you'll find many, since almost all police car mods use ELS. You mentioned a LAPD pack, you can find one here for example. Look through LCPDFR, GPM or any other website, you'll find more ELS than non-ELS cars, there's definitly something to fit your needs.

By the way, ELS does not usually reload any high poly parts, if I look at my cars the models for the actual lights have around 30 polygons all together, which is like less than 1KB of the car's file size. While many modders use ELS together with high poly vehicles, you can't generalise ELS cars being high poly. I don't believe memory flood is going to happen, especially because the restrictions for the amount of cars is pretty strict by default. You might have lag caused by the additional work for your GPU or even random issues caused by the script but if you have a decent PC and decent cars, there won't be much more crashes than without ELS.

Thanks for that information! I had no idea :)

I do believe that memory flood will happen, if a part is added, removed, added, removed and so on several times in a row. That will quickly cause instability, atleast in my experience. If you're not using ELS, you will see less crashes. If you do, there will most likely be a increase.
