LCPDFR 0.95 vs LCPDFR 1.0

Featured Replies

I'm pretty sure 0.95 is less demanding.

1.0 was completely re-worked and a lot more stuff added, so this will definitely be more heavy than 0.95. For stability and resource friendly.. 0.95 is your best option

If you want to me reply as soon as possible, then either quote or @CouthInk4  me as i'll be notified, a general reply will not notify me

I wouldn't say LCPDFR 0.95RC2 is more stable. When it was released, it had a lot of seperate errors and it was quite the mess. When LCPDFR 1.0 was released, not that many had issues and those who did usually had the same kind of issues.

I find myself using 1.0 a lot, and enjoying it, even if some folks say it is heavier, I notice little if any difference in the performance on my machine. Only issue is still a little more prone to crashing (though much improved since the hotfix, but with how GTA IV is, the more you play it, the lower chance of it crashing gets, GTA IV sees new scripts like a new pair of shoes often, that it has to break them in until it is comfortable with them. So you'll have a lot of crashes at first with either one.) You will likely get the MMA10 "Out of memory" error upon exiting GTA IV a lot after using 1.0, even though in this is really not the case, but rather GTAIV not knowing what it is doing. Just though I'd throw that out.

But, 0.95RC2 is better optimized at this point, albeit it is obsolete and not as refined IMO.

If you have a decent vid card (even for standards from 3 years ago), like more than 4 gigs of ram, Windows 7 or 8 (which LCPDFR requires with the MS Dot Net Framework, which isn't made for older versions, like XP), and a good enough processor,  I honestly think you'll find yourself ok with 1.0 to be honest. Also look at learning how to use commandline.txt for GTAIV. It is known to help a lot of people improve their framerate and lower the chances of a texture pop-in. I started using it about 2 weeks ago and quite honestly, have been having less issues with environment textures disappearing.

Leonov...I have a AMD HD 7730 2gb, amd fx6300 and 6gb of RAM...And the game have some "lag" when i use vehicles..Maybe the GTA 4 in steam are bad optimized

1.0 is the most stable for the general user.

Some lag would be expected with a AMD 7730.

If you're using Windows XP, have a crap computer, or just use a bunch of high-poly car mods, I wouldn't recommend using LCPDFR at all.

I'm using windows 8.1...

How can i know if my cars are high-poly? And why i have lag with this video card?

You will notice the filesizes of the vehicles you download. The stock vehicle models are often under 1mb. And high poly ones could be up to 3-8 megabytes. The texture files are also alot bigger, as the textures are resized from 512x512 pixels to at leaste 1024x1024 ( most 2048x2048 )

So the game has to load the model 3-8 megabytes, and the texture files 3-5,megabytes depending on liveries and details.

I only download the model...I dont have any texture...And thanks for the info :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that non-els cars are heavier than els cars

Well there are more objects on the ELS car. But should not have anything to do with weight ingame.  Thats configures in the handling file. But if the vehicle feels sloggy, it could be that the centre of mass is way out. ELS cars are often secondhand modified vehicles, and the centre point of the vehicle could be off some when exported.

+1 ninjastyle :)

Non-els cars are less heavy than ELS cars, generally.

My non-els cars are in majority, heavier cars that els that have downloaded here and i think the ELS mod crashes more my game

By less heavy, we mean less resource-heavy. Since ELS cars generally go for realism more, most ELS cars are attempts to replicate a real vehicle. Non-ELS vehicles are more likely to be based off the cars already in IV (reducing poly count considerably), and also, because many people who use non-ELS do so for performance reasons, modders who make them are more likely to pay attention to poly count. In addition, ELS itself puts a decently big load on your system.

GTA IV is poorly optimized for PC; since it's the same game whether or not it's on Steam, the retail version and Steam version are equally poorly optimized.

The memory error when you exit GTA is a result of how LCPDFR loads the taser into the game; however, since it happens only when you quit the game, crashes don't really affect your playing experience (or as I like to phrase it: "Oh no, the program had an issue and has to close, and just when I was about to close it!")

If you are unsure about lag, try each of them. However, know that 0.95 is no longer supported; all future development will be progressing from 1.0.
