Eh, guys im getting a headache here, im still trying to complete a bunch of crime reports, what do i do when the same person has two crime reports against them? Different charges, but the same person? Also, I really believe we need to somehow get to new officers across about the whole process of completeing warrants and making custody reports ect.? Thanks

That really shouldnt happen I dont think, maybe the system is running out of names. If the incidences are completely unrelated and occurred at different times you can try and work them both in together and possibly increase the sentencing because he has committed multiple crimes. Just try to work it in until the database is updated. I have made a new "Announcement" on the officer chat about reminding them to submit custody reports before crime reports, and until Constable (Braveheart) comes back there not much more that can be done.

This is how it appears. I went through a good 20-30 names before finding one person I could use who wasn't in custody last night, and there were two people in game I was arresting so I just said forget it for the second person. Looks like we'll just have to wait for Braveheart to get back though, it won't stop me from enjoying MDC, especially with the Radio feature now :)

While in the chat room we were all using a different set of 10-Codes. Now I know we can pull up the same code using an online link or all agree to open LAPD 10-Codes in another tab. However, to avoid explination and confusion, how about adding a 10-Codes button? Like how there are My Inquires and Warrants. A 10-Codes button would work well. We could add a list of the codes from a police source somewhere and use them as the codes in the game.

This would work, but it would take some time it seems before everyone agrees on the 10 codes. I'd just suggest having everyone use plain language, as a large number of agencies have recently made this move away from 10 codes, starting with FEMA's suggestion to have everyone use plain language during multiple jursidiction and multiple agency collaboration, such as during emergencies or natural disasters. It would actually be funny if MDC adopted plain language because it'd be following the suggestion of FEMA, seeing as how everyone almost is from a different, albeit fictional, department.

there in lies a problem.....one person...sitting, not playing the game, and every one on the same teamspeak. as well as most people don't have two computers to run the MDC AND gtaiv, with out alt tabbing, which does sometimes crash the game

I completely agree with the above comments - from a dispatchers prospective earlier on it was getting very confusing just having each code thrown around, before even adding the fact they meant different things to different people!

So what i think the best option would be is to have a standard set of say 10 to 15 of the most common 10 codes for the generic, most common messages (e.g. On duty, in service, rest break, backup, out of service, copied etc) then everything else to be in understandable-to-everyone English really which i do not see to much of a trouble in - remember any option can always be trialed etc.

As stated they vary.

Most new departments are going to plain english. Code4 and code3 are pretty much all they use. sometimes code 5 for warrants.

PLEASE USE PLAIN ENGLISH

if you run windowed you may alt tab in multiplayer

if you use steam you can shift tab and use the browser.

Im going to say minimal use of codes in chat and radio. Simple codes like 10-4 are acceptable but like stated by other officers it gets confusing, agencies are moving away from it, and not all users are from the same country so codes are unique to your country and some countries like Australia where I live do not use codes at all.

For the sake of clear communication, keep codes to a minimum

Here codes can vary from one town to the next. My town is plain english while a neighbouring town to the West is all codes and 'signals'

A lot of people are mentioning (Forums, Officer Chat, Bug Reports) that they are only getting names of people already in custody when using the generate persons tool. This is a known issue and can only be dealt with once Braveheart/Constable returns. If you like you can still use the details and treat the case as if they have escaped.

Hey guys, sorta re-opening this, but i really thing... that when constable gets back that maybe the whole thing should be reset, its getting to be a hassle, its hard to find a person that isnt in custody, prosecutors need to be able to bail, or atleast when they finish a crime report the person should be removed from custody. Also there is a bug on my status that does not let me allow charges to be quashed. I've also found atleast 3 people with 2 or more crime reports, and in all, im getting confused and its getting harder to deal with. I love the game, love this addition, but i think we need to have a way of cleaning some of this stuff up. Personally i think if a person is in custody they should be removed from the generate names completely. But thats just my opinion! As always i love the mod and the game, just my input! Thanks

Their are things Constable will fix once he returns, such as the major issue with Persons Generating. Constable has also mentioned that the bail system currently does not work. Recently the system has had some major updates and changes, this has lead to new bugs and issues. With constable away all of this has built up and I agree the system has become more difficult to use but as soon as he returns Im sure it will start to clear up and be back to normal, or better.

This is actually a bug. We will address this once Constable and I can get to work on it again.

It happens far too often, so its just a matter of reducing the frequency... Wont be hard, but I dont want to go changing any files when i haven't done any work on that specific part of the system recently. That's why we've been waiting till het gets back

I've had a look at the generate persons tool, it should now be functioning correctly. It wasn't the case we didn't have enough people in the database this time (we have 168 at present, most of which (more than 50%) are not in prison). I've also implemented the bail feature (only admins, mods and prosecutors (who will double as Custody Sergeants) can bail persons) however at present it will log you out when trying to bail...still working on it.

Lastly I've added a quick way to submit a custody case without needing to have a case in your workbasket, find the button on the custody management screen. Only use this version for warrant arrests and such like. As it states on the page, if you have a crime report to submit too, submit a custody through the case.
