GTA crashes at Startup

Featured Replies

Very frustrating. I downloaded and installed the manual version last night. I clicked in my icon to start it, the Social Club login came up. I skipped to play offline and immediately after that, GTA crashes and closes the program.

After that, I completely uninstalled GTA and installed a clean copy. I patched it to the latest version and ran the game to test it. The game loaded up fine, so I then again did a manual install of LCPDFR 1.0. I load the game, and again the Social Club login comes up, but after I click to play offline, the game again crashes. I have no idea what's wrong. Everything for the mod has been loaded where it should be.

Here is the AdvancedHookInit.log;

I do not have the AdvancedHook.log

I also had the issue of not having a .x64 version of Windows Vista. I followed the instructions of that, so as far as I know, everything that needs to be installed has been installed.

Legal copy of the game? Running the game as administrator? What other mods are you using? What operating system are you using?

Also, please install these

Invenio, Investigatio, Imperium

I just got back in here to add that yes, I am running the game as administrator. Yes, it is a legal copy of the game. I did an uninstall and a fresh install of the game, I am running no other mods. I'm using Windows Vista.

Ya, I had no issues running the last version of LCPDFR before. This is the first issue I've had with it. Not sure why it's immediately crashing at startup. I had installed all of the required C++ programs. The only one I didn't have was the GFWL 3.5 update which I'm installing now.

The only thing I can guess as a possible issue is the C++ update for the x64 version, but again, I don't have the x64 version of Windows, so I can't install it. I installed the x86 version of the C++ 2012 update, so that should be fine, correct?

And what version of Windows are you running?

Hello,

I got the same problem and replaced dsound.dll with xlive.dll and I can start the game. Now I just got the problem that the game is crashing when loading the police station...

Best regards,

Roman

I fixed the issue after looking around at some other posts of crashing. For anyone else having this problem;

Do the manual installation of the taser.

I'm able to load the game now. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to turn on the mod because Alt-P does nothing. I'll check around some more as far as troubleshooting that before asking for help on it. At least I'm able to start the game now though, so I should be able to figure out the rest.

Thanks everyone for all your help on this!
