What Do You Think?...

Featured Replies

What do you think of people who are so 'Anti-Police'?

I mean they are fine calling them 'pigs' but when they need help, they still expect it.

Not that fair, is it? :/

So yeh, it pisses me off with people who hate the police, they're doing you a favour!

Haha, what's your opinion?

Cheers.

There's pigs, and then there's police officers.

Pigs are the corrupt cops that don't deserve to be called police officers.

Police officers are the good cops that deserve to be called police officers.

That's my view. I have no problem with people hating pigs, but I do have a problem with people hating police officers.

Just like any job, there's always going to be a few bad apples in a position.

When they ticket someone for not wearing a seatbelt (a consenting activity that would only harm the individual), I would hardly call it a favor.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

amen...a lot of cops here have been arrested rape ,stealing, abuse etc and a lot of people call cops pigs because a lot of them are corrupt very few are good cops anymore and the other reason is because they like to harass people for the stupid little stuff like oh I don't know window tint stuff like that

I wouldn't call any police officer a pig, corrupt or not. Calling someone a pig, no matter who they are or what they did, is disrespectful. If a cop commits a criminal act, why call them a pig? Why not just call them what they are, a rapist, or criminal? Calling them a pig is almost glorifying them in a way. I'd rather be a pig than a rapist.

the corrupt guys get all the media attention, so that's all the public sees on TV...

Ever watch a news report about a cop that does his job correctly?

People have an inherent disliking for people telling them what to do. Police don't pull you over to say hello and see how you're day is going. They stop you for breaking a law, regardless of how your day's going, if you're late for something, in a bad mood, don't have money to pay for a ticket or time to go to court, etc. Cops are also humans, just like the people they stop. There are bad humans, and there are good ones. Some bad humans happen to be police officers, and people are going to take that bad experience they get and apply that to all people who wear the uniform. Think of it this way: If I visit my favorite electronics store, and the people there give me a terrible experience, that may mean that I'll refuse to shop at ANY location with that brand, not just the one store. And I'll tell all of my friends and family about my horrible experience too. The same thing will happen to civil servants, and it's not easy to be polite and forgiving all the time.

Anyway this reply of mine is starting to get long winded, and I think you get my point by now.

FYI: c13, not wearing a seat belt can easily harm more than just the individual not wearing it. If the person without a belt gets knocked unconscious they will lose all control of the vehicle, then they could slam into oncoming traffic and kill another driver, or maybe hit a telephone poll and kill the passenger due to the impact. Or they can also be ejected from the car completely, again putting others in dangers for the same or similar reasons. Maybe your ejection from the vehicle will cause it to spin and flip, creating a vehicle fire. Now you're putting emergency workers lives at risk to put out the fire you caused and/or pull anybody else in the vehicle out in time before they suffocate or burn to death. There are very, very few reasons I can think of to not wear your seat belt. The only good one that comes to mind is if you have a serious injury of your arm/shoulder and cannot move the belt across yourself due to the potential of causing further injury. But even then, that would only apply to a passenger in the car, as someone with that kind of injury shouldn't be driving in the first place.

Again, same as above. Long winded reply, shouldn't need to explain any further.

Completely agree with ya.

There's a lot of LEO's. Both good and bad and like us, LEO's are just human, only doing a job not a lot of people like. Maybe people do, I don't know. All I know is not everyone does. They represent the authority and often do things that make people disagree, even retaliate on extreme cases. They tell you what to do and what not to do. Things ranging from lecturing, to giving us tickets or arresting people. That alone creates a lot of hate.

On the other hand, there are those LEO's who shame the badge with their corrupt acts and deserve to be thrown under the bus. Those invidivuals tend to stain a lot of good departments and good people while at it, create a lot of hate too.

Of course a lot of kids have the 'rebel' mentality and say "fuck the police" because, well, it's cool. I guess. Usually they grow out of it though.

Internet also opens a whole new level of hate because people get to say things they wouldn't have the guts to say in public or to an LEO him/herself. There's also a lot of stupider folk online. Just saying.
