a new way to tell a parent your kid is fat

Featured Replies

I think that either she shouldn't hand out candy to anyone or hand out candy to everyone. Discriminating based on the appearance of the child is not acceptable. A child could look "obese", but in reality he could be just a pacific islander with a bulkier build than other races. I know a lot of really fat looking people that are actually really physically fit. She should have no say in whether a parent lets their child trick or treat, it should be entirely a decision the parents should make.

Part of what she says makes sense. Obesity is an epidemic and parents need to do more for the sake of their children. Although, this is probably the wrong way to go about it.

what if the kids have a sickness that makes them fat and she gives the kid this note how do you think it will make them feel? they will be very sad she ether gives out candy or doesnt give out candy

I see what she's doing, but that is not the right way. People are blaming the fast food industry for selling the food making them fat. No, if have a problem with it, then don't buy it. No one is forcing you to buy fast food.

A few pieces of candy is not going to affect the kid's weight either. Losing a meaningful amount of weight would require a whole lifestyle change.
