So, what are your thoughts on the Rhino Tank in GTA V?  I've been messing around with it for a few days now and I personally feel it is way too weak in the game.  The firepower is decent but the durability seems to be lacking, or maybe bugged.  I say this because:

• Spike strips affect the tank just as though it has tires (you hear the "pop" sound and the tracks act like burst tires).  The tank is almost useless after this unless you want to sit in place forever.
• Running over 2-5 cars will cause you to blow up.
• Running over or staying too close to a flaming piece of metal or a flaming car will cause the tank to catch fire and explode a few seconds later.
• One shot with the cannon at close range (like if you accidentally shoot right next to you) will cause it to blow up.
• As for the firepower, only a direct hit on a police car or ground unit will blow it up / kill them.  A "nearby shot" won't kill them.

So yeah, what your your thoughts?  I still enjoy causing mayhem in the tank but I feel that Rockstar could have done better with it.  At least it can take a barrage of gunfire no problem.

I agree, it seems to be lacking in quite a few areas. When I bought it and was getting ready to drive it, I was anticipating tank-like controls, not some flappy-uncontrollable thing that it is. And when I was in a pursuit and ran over the spike strips, I was like, WTF?!

Haha I know, I ran over them once and I said "you're sh*tting me, right? Did that just happen?" I also blew my old tank up on purpose one time with C4 and while it was burning I heard "pop pop" from the tracks. Apparently the game really thinks it has tires.  :sad:

I think it may be a BUG in game, since GTA has a history of very very TOUGH Rhinos. Hell the vice city and SA rhinos were better than this. 

But as you said the mayhem feeling is fun.

I too think it needs to be beefed up a bit.

I agree with everyone here, it's not close to being a tank. 

With that said, it's probably because of balancing in multiplayer. 

im surprised that it didn't have a machine gun I was really excited jumping in thinking it had an m249 saw or a 50 cal or something that accually fired besides the cannon shells so disappointing :( in my experience it takes 2 hits from another tank and its done. the 1 is sa was pretty much indestructible.

well I'll just say its been   fine in the session's that I've come across it when playing  online  and other players are using it thing is a bitch to take down   ( its annoying when other players drive it destroying  everything )   and the police can't seem to stop it or destroy it

Ye, I was pretty disappointed when my tank hit a few cop cars then exploded. I thought it was going to be a lot tougher since it costs 3MIL.

I tried the one from Warstock Cache & Carry and it has yet to be blow up. I've run over hundreds of Cops, been run over by the Jet and hit by Air Force jet missiles. Nothing seems to kill it! Except, when I hit a tree out past Paleto Bay.

I play on the Xbox.

I played around witb the tank some more and, if used correctly, I found it can still be a super-vehicle. The trick is to avoid running over cars at all costs. Explosions from cars can kill the tank very quickly, while gunfire does almost nothing. So, if going on a 5-star rampage, don't worry about getting shot at - just worry about avoid explosions and fire.

It must be really buffed in the Deathmatches; it took at least a half dozen direct hits to blow up.
