I am pretty sure but not 100% sure but I may have found a simple fix for ELS, so if you want to try this and put your feed back and tell if it worked for you as well, I would like to know but I can say I was getting crashes every 20 min and after I did this fix I almost fell asleep testing it because it never crashed for over an hour,but you have to have it setup a certain way, so here it is

1.make sure the only cars modded with ELS are the F.B.I. and Noose , the car your modding for police, and police2 should be

(NON) ELS

2.Install ELS v5 into your main GTA IV Folder.

3.Download ELS v4

4.Open ELS v4 and find the ELS.ini file, that is the only file you want in the whole folder

5.Copy the ELS.ini from ELS v4 and paste it into you main GTA IV directory

6.Close the folder play the game

Now this will make all the original emergency vehicles non ELS,and your vehicle will be the only thing with ELS

so far this seems to work great,please test and let me know if it works for you as well , good luck :smile:

You can just disable ELS for police and police2 in ELS v5's ini..

Yeah I tried that but was still getting crashes I wonder if its something to do with v4 ini being mixed with v5 asi files that is keeping it from crashing I dont know whats doing it but Itested it again with the same results no crashes at all (im very happy at this point)

Problem is that disables a lot of light patterns and the ability to use spotlights while you overheads are on, etc. Or you can just use modded non-els cars and make the only els one yours. Also this doesn't belong in the support section since it's not an LCPD:FR issue. Let's get this moved to one of the generic GTA IV sections.

by the way still using the skins you made me and loving it

but tell me this when i switched from v6 to v5 I lost all use of over head spot lights , do you know why

Glad you enjoy them. You don't loose the use of them, but you can't have them on at the same time your overhead blue/red lights are on. You have to choose one or the other in ELS V5. You can only have both in V6 which is fairly unstable.

well that explains alot, thanx, was wondering what the problem was with that for a while

I only want to say that Lt.Caine updatet his ELSv6. It seems that it works for me atm.

May I ask what has changed in this update? I do get crashes every other time I play LCPDFR but not sure if it's crashing because of that mod, or perhaps I have the older version of ELS v6? Is there much of a change with the newest version? Thanks!

Yeah, I noticed that an updated version of v6 was out a few weeks ago, and I have yet to have a crash with it...I dont know what was changed, but I know that it works much better.

Can i run ELS in patch 1.0.4? :sleep:
