It looks like the colored lenses from the LED bar got positioned incorrectly above the lightbar.

Oh, man. The Buffalo is now my favorite cop car... too bad it isn't in the old LAPD B&W-style.

 

 

Other than the "Police" liveries and Sheriff cruiser all-white paint jobs, I have no plans or replacing any of the cars when GTAV hits PC.

I don't like the badge.

I just replayed that mission and after I switched to Franklin and back to Michael the old style lights vanished

Yeah I'd say it's not actually a new lightbar and just the glass casing of the LED bar getting spawned incorrectly and being vertical as opposed to horizontal. 

The white sheriffs cruiser is based of the real life LASD volunteers department. My fav police vehicle is the police bike. As it has great acceleration, handling and it fairly good if you have to take the dirt. Also have to agree about the interceptors paint scheme and badge on the buffalo. The paint scheme is so generic and boring. I have seen the show cars with that scheme. I don't really know why R* made it look like that. They could have easily made it look like the CVPI. And the badge on the buffalo is just stupid and ridiculous looking.

Actually, it looks like the new interceptor's paintjob is based on a mix of the showroom style livery and the Los Angeles airport police's livery. As for the sheriff cruiser, they should have not based it off of the volunteer department rather than the actual Crown Vics driven around by deputies. Though I do give R* a bit of slack considering Rockstar North is a company based in Scotland and not in the United States and so the law enforcement uses different vehicles and a different system over there. Like stated before, they did an amazing job on the lighting and the vehicles themselves, but when it came to liveries it just sort of fell apart.

Yeah I suspose that is true. I guess they didn't want the two CVPIs to look the same.

I really love the new lighting systems which I think make up for the shitty liveries. Here is my collection.

You have to beat the game.

And the sound of the bike combined with the siren and the handling feeling when you drive very fast, it's just awesome. I felt like the most badass person in SA during the chase at 1:11

At least now I've seen a car that isn't a demo vehicle with that type of scheme around LA. I still prefer the simple, classic LAPD-markings.

 

I have to say that the black and white "Police" style R* used is starting to get too common; at least one local department and the county have decided to go for instead of their white vehicles with unique graphics (blue-gold markings for the city and gold-green for county). Hopefully the state won't do the same.

If memory serves, that black and white livery is a requirement based on a Federal grant.

 

I've seen numerous departments around the country including my own here at home using a boring livery like that and I've been told that it's because if they accept Federal funding for vehicle acquisitions, the Feds say any vehicles purchased with that funding must be painted in a nationally standardized black and white livery. The Feds want all police vehicles to be uniform across the entire country.

 

My city recently purchased new Chargers, Caprices, and Ford Interceptors and all of them are painted in this livery. Here's a news article about the new livery, though the article says it's being paid for with forfeiture assets so perhaps the Federal Funding story I've heard several times isn't entirely true.

When you complete the story missions you can go into the closet and the Highway Patrol, tactical outfit, diving outfit, Security outfit and all of the other heist outfits will be available for Michael

Trevor can have the CHP outfit as well as most of the other outfits (he doesn't get the "tactical" outfit Michael has, he has a black outfit, but it doesn't have the vest with it.

Franklin has most of the other outfits, less the CHP, Security and tactical outfit.

 

There is a trick to getting the helmet removed, actually there are several, personally I find it just as easy to die, than to do the vehicle switching trick.

 

As an update to an earlier post I made. I HAVE stolen Buzzards from the NOOSE building roof. These are fully armed...However you can also steal the unarmed version from the roof of police headquarters (the one you used in the Devin mission), but the minute you go into the locker room, you will get 4 stars, not really worth the effort unless you are a diehard collector.

I find the security outfit quite useful to use for like park rangers or sheriffs. You can remove the helmet as Trevor by going to suburban or discount store going to the hat section and select no hat. I usually use the secuirty if I do highway patrol in a CVPI or Tarus.

Yeah that is true *SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASN'T COMPLETED GAME* I killed Trevor the first time I played and I replayed the whole game just to get that uniform with Trevor.
