In GTA IV, not all shots/damage was fatal, and many people were just wounded, lying on the ground waiting for the ambo. However, in GTA V Youtube Edition (all those videos I saw :D) looks like everyone dies instantly, and I didn't notice an ambo arriving. Could someone share some details about this? Thanks!

As far as I know, ambulances do respond to victims down but I believe that it has to be called in by a random citizen / or a beat cop for it to spawn.

I've been playing for a couple of hours now and so far I haven't seen a single Ambulance respond through the city/countryside. I'm really not sure about wounded victims, I haven't seen any yet. I did however notice that sometimes the cops would enter a "last stand" stance after being shot a few times only to get back up once the suspect is taken down.

I've seen ambulances show up plenty of times to downed people. I've also been assaulted by four paramedics during a punching spree.

 

However, it seems even knocking people out kills them. I don't know if I've seen medics revive anyone.

Now it's all clear. Ambo shows up real quick, they get out, pull out notebooks, write something down and then just leave. I wonder who's that genius in R* who decided to quit the GTA IV's way.

Well it is a game where you can mindlessly murder anyone and anything. The police/paramedic /fire department part of the game is not meant to be viewed up and close. Cops are enemies, not the realistic police in the real world. Paramedics are meant to be viewed when speeding away from the scene of crime. That's my opinion anyway.

Well it is a game where you can mindlessly murder anyone and anything. The police/paramedic /fire department part of the game is not meant to be viewed up and close. Cops are enemies, not the realistic police in the real world. Paramedics are meant to be viewed when speeding away from the scene of crime. That's my opinion anyway.

 

Well, this is forum where people (most of them, I believe) have fun by playing as a cop, and many mods here are aimed to make this experience more close to reality. And I honestly didn't expect such attitude here, lol. Maybe I'm too naive, but in Liberty I always call medical help after shoot-outs to help people.

 

And second thing is that R& didn't have to invent anything new, they could just keep a fine system. They added firetrucks responses, anyway.

And I am not arguing against that, I also strive for realism. I'm just stating the facts here, GTA V is a different game from GTA IV (they are similar, but not the same). 

 

If GTA V is ever released to the PC, we may see a LCPDFR equivalent in GTA V. Then we can start tweaking the realism to our level, the way we want it. But right now, we can't do anything about it. It is the way it is right now. R* does not aim for that particular kind of realism in their games. I'm content with the way it is right know, it adds some immersion to see the ambulance arrive at a crime scene when I am driving away from there.

 

TL;DR GTA V is a crime simulator at the moment. Wait for PC and mods :)

yeah, I know. Thing is, I was too disappointed and had to express it, 'cause I doubt this can be changed by mods ever...

GTA IV was fixed up pretty good with mods, right? If GTA V comes to the PC and is as "mod friendly" (cough, cough) as GTA IV it can probably be fixed. 

 

Huh, that's a nice feature. Have not seen it yet, need to spend more time ingame!

I can't really comment on gameplay as I do not have a console.

 

However, I see the possibility here that R* MAY improve slightly on those things if there's need, given that "enough" people report or suggest it. Not like a DLC may be required. It could be up to a year for a PC release or slightly more. Could be fixed or expanded until then or via some DLC / Addon from R*.
