LCPDFR won't even allow GTA IV to run

Recommended Posts

Right after I installed LCPDFR and tried to run GTA IV I get an error message saying that the program has stopped working, both are freshly installed and have done so twice so far. Is there a step I'm missing somewhere? I downloaded the game from Amazon if that helps at all. This is whats in the "problem details"

Any help would be greatly appreciated since I have no idea what could be causing this, thanks in advance.

Oops sorry had the right extension but I said titleupdate when I mean updatetitle :( My bad. Run updatetitle.exe.

It seems like I'm not meant to play this game, I reinstalled the game and the patch and I get a new error message so I'm uninstalling and trying one more time, do you know of a noob friendsly tutorial I can check out by any chance?

For using a patch? lol No. There might be a readme file with it, but usually it's just an executable file you simply double click on, MAYBE prompting you to locate the directory it's installed in, then you just let it do its thing. If the game launches after that, then we can work towards applying LCPD:FR.

maybe a language issue? Didnt look into it but sometimes there are different patches for different languages. So be sure to check out the correct patch for your language! Just google it, "Patch 1.0.7.0 [LANGUAGE]"

It may be worth noting if you modded your game at all, (as in replaced any of the 'standard' libs/files), you'll need to either restore the originals or reinstall if you didn't save them.  The patches do integrity checks on files, else it'll fail when installing.
