9-11-01 never forget

Featured Replies

this all started because how what strike said or this thread would have been fine, just being honest here.

Blame those who can't stand other people's opinion. It's a forum, I've given my reasons for my post (see my first 2 posts here) and I don't think that I have said anything disrespecful to the victims. It's a forum so you people should deal with other people's opinions. I'm sick of insults and flaming, some are the ones that give americans a bad name around the world.

This is my last post in this thread since seems that there mostly are arrogant people who post without thinking. Then don't talk about freedom and shit like that if you can't deal with it. Sorry for the off-topic.

  • No offense but it's been 12 and you people should think in the future, move on. I know the attack was a hard blow for the american people, but you won't get anything looking back and carrying the pain

  • Offense taken  its a kinda holiday outta respect for 1st responders in addition to all those who lost their lives that day  in addition its a Nation Holiday / day of remembrance and service     2

  • I really wanted to do something for the 12th anniversary, yet I had no idea. The very least I could do is make one of the hero trucks. I had more planned though couldn't do the project anymore because

I said enough.  All discussion about the arguments ends here.  After this point there are to be posts only about remembering 9/11 and those lost.  One more argument and this thread gets scrapped.

I still remember hearing about it at school, but I thought they were trying to mess with me because I tended to be very gullible.  My aunt was at work in Washington DC, and they forced her and her coworkers into the parking garage BELOW the building.  My aunt told them where to shove it, hopped into her car and drove home.  She did work for the government at the time.  Got a message on the answering machine saying "I am alright.  Lots going on, turn on the news.  Got to go. Bye"

To all who responded to the attacks, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

why I bring it up every year and remember / it hurts still just like yesterday

1.)-   I was a firefighter during   9/11/01  ( no not in NYC )   and I watched as 343 brothers in the brotherhood were killed 60 police 15 medic's and 1 police dog

2.) some1 in my immediate family knew 3 people who lost their lives in the tower / used to work for 1 of the 3

3.) the rescue squad in my township  responded to NYC  to help with the recovery effort with fdny rescue squads being all but wiped out  and ran / responded tp calls with a barely half staffed rescue squad for 7-10 days while they were up in NY

When I show up at your families memorial..maybe a mother or fathers, and announce..."so what the big deal!! it's been 12-years, come on and get over itl! He's dead and your mom probably did it"  Tell me then it's just an opinion you asshole.

Think before you speak if you don't want to get slapped around like a bitch.

DrDetroit

Look, here's the thing.

I don't think there's any reasonable denying that 9/11 was a tragic event.  Is it fine for people to remember it and those affected by it?  Absolutely.  Is it wrong for someone to make a suggestion that people should focus less on remembrance and instead try to move on and look forward?  Absolutely not.

Don't turn this into a heated debate, don't get carried away with opposing opinions.  Keep it civilised or we will start handing out warnings and suspensions.

"You tell me exactly what you want, and I will very carefully explain to you why it cannot be."

My god this thread is a mess. Can we at least observe the actual day without having arguments over it?

I was quite young when it occurred by cousin worked at the WTC.

He had actually been on vacation visiting his parents(my aunt and uncle) on the day and because of it he is still alive.

Almost all his coworkers and good friends lost their lives.

Thats pretty much all I know as he does not talk about it much.

As someone who has grown up with a heavy influence from nearby military bases and military families, 9/11 is a fairly touchy subject for me. I do not care if people want to debate, or say we should get over it, you are all entitled to your opinions. But I ask that you at least show respect for this one somber day by refraining from continuing this argument. And I hope if you guys cannot withhold, staff follows through with their promises and stops it for us. As reading this thread was quite upsetting for myself and I am sure others.

Never forget.

And use the past to shape the future. Peace never comes from war and the past 12 years should be hard evidence of that.

I agree with this 100% Pengi, this even shock that world, hand changed our look about how easy it is for terrorist, and as for move along, how can we when several 100 people were taken form 20+ country's around the world in a few seconds, people may be able to move on from war, but they cant move on from something like 9/11

even thought alot of the first responders aren't called "heros", they did what they loved till the end and that what matters, because people dont need a title to be remembered

Still this is a wound that won"t heal for some people, and I respect that

Hi guys today we gather,

take a small moment of our time to reflect, remember

To All my brothers in blue I will never forget those lost on that day I had a friend who was going in to HQ to hand in his retirement papers he heard the call go out and unfortunately did not make it out . Guys like

strike and C13 I get what your trying to say but it tells me that you are not from the NY area. Every 9-11 I make sure I remember my brothers who selflessly paid the ultimate price  death trying to protect people they have never met and as a former NY LEO. I know those guys went into the buildings just to help save at least one person the fire fighters who walked right into the flames to save others.

Although I don't think you guys meant to offend people you have to really think before you typed out your statement. I believe the memorials should go on every 9-11 to help keep the memories of all who lost there lives and I do not only think of the firefighters, ems, and Police Officers. But we must also remember those who unwittingly saved a life.

Just take 3 min. and let those who lost friends/co-workers mourn it is a feeling that never goes away

last thing i'm going to say is

R.I.P.

to all lost on Sept.11

You will Never be forgotten
