Euro Truck Simulator 2

Featured Replies

So, pretty much all day today I've been playing, as the title states, Euro Trucking Simulator 2. I had seen a bunch of videos on YouTube of it and decided to pick it up. For being a simulation game, it is actually quite fun. It's made by the same people that made the 18 Wheels of Steel series of games, which are pretty much the same thing, but only allow for trucking in the US. Which I why I prefer ETS2, because you get to go around Europe, as the title suggests. Now, I'm not familiar with trucks in general, but I am saving up in-game for the Renault Magnum, the Stealth Truck that Jezza had when the Top Gear crew became lorry drivers, and doing the odd job here and there in game is rather fun. Yes you just belt around Europe on mostly dual carrigeways and B-roads at 50 miles an hour, but it is quite relaxing. So I highly suggest this game to those who are into the simulation style games. Now, I have heard in some of the videos that there are some mods for this game out there, have any of you guys found any that you like? If so, what are they, I'd like to check some out and add them to my game.

All in all I found this game entertaining, well, as entertaining as driving a truck can be, but also relaxing, not worrying about some n00b trying to pwn me in Call of Duty. So if any of you guys that read this have played, feel free to tell your opinion of the game, I'd love to hear it!

That has happened to me as well. When the say simulation, they aren't kidding when you're doing 55 mph into a Peugeot and yelling, "Oh for God's sakes! Not again!"

I really enjoy this game. Some people think that simulators are boring or "not games", I think that this game is effing awesome. I insanely love simulators especially because I can drive whatever the hell I like, with out worrying about paying for gas, and servicing the vehicle, which I tend to do TOO much of lately, in the comfort of my own office. ^-^

This game is super fun, relaxing and inSANELY realistic. I play with my Logitech wheel.

I have just about the most basic Logitech wheel, so it doesn't have any sort of force feedback, so I tend not to use it, but I have been using an Xbox controller for the game and I really quite like it. I agree with you @Acegaming2153, it does get boring after a while, but when it does, I just go on a complete rampage, wrecking anything and everything! XD BUt I got nicked by a few speed cameras when I did a job in Dover. But hey, it's realistic! lol

Had it since May and got bored 3 days into it pretty fun but if you play to long it gets boring

This is one of the few games where I've almost fallen asleep whilst playing, the sound of the rain tapping against the windscreen of the cab as you drive through a quiet country road at night with headphones on to amplify the sound has actually caused me to almost fall asleep only to be suddenly woken up by my virtual truck swerving into oncoming traffic

So yeah, its pretty relaxing.

I love this game. I hope they make an American one with these (or better) graphics and physics.

There is a game on steam called "18 Wheels of Steel: American long haul."

I've never played it before so i don't know if it had good graphics or good physics

The 18 Wheels of Steel games are old and outdated, I want one with the updated engine.

American Long Haul is 6 years old.

It was definitely fun and advanced for it's time, but now, no. Lol.

I love this game :) But if you get bored while playing, you can always try some mods. One of the best mods (imo) is TSM map mod, wich adds more than 100 new cities into the game. You can find it with a quick google search :)

There is a post on their blog that reveals an American truck that may be used in a future project, and they already parked the domain americantrucksimulator.com for future use.

Or swerving at the last second as another truck has decided to come to a complete stop on the dual carriageway for no reason (which is pretty darn illegal in the UK) and emitting a lot of swearing

I love ETS2  it's a great relaxing game to stream actually.  I usually do a day of runs  once each week  so I never burned out on the game.

Gives me the feeling of being that trucker I never became.  It's a great game  and really cheap.

I'll be driving down the road and I'll be doing top speed, and I come upon trucks and cars that aren't going as fast as me, and I'll think that I can overtake them. I get through one or two before I see another truck barreling down the highway in my direction and I either swerve off the road or kill some poor bloke in an Astra next to me. It is quite entertaining, so when I get home I may see if I can record a gameplay and stick it on YouTube.

Also, Harper, I love your photo. That's from Hot Fuzz, right? Great film, one of my favourites!

I just checked out the americantrucksimulator.com and it says that it is the future domain for the game but it doesn't confirm production of the game. Hopefull they do make it!

What i've done was add mods to add even more realism to the game. I drive american made trucks in europe.....lol

What are these mods called and where can I find them? I wouldn't mind driving a Kenworth or Mack down the highway.
