DIsarming?

Weird, I've always used the last beta version as I'm new and at first I read the keys for the older version F3 being disarming, now I noticed in the beta keys there's no disarming but I could swear I once hit f3 (idk random? ) and it grabbed the hand of the suspect putting it behind while holding the gun? Now I could never do it again, I hit f3 and nothing happens, mostly if I'm lucky i shoot them in the hand and they drop the gun but is it disabled for 0.95? Or I should keep trying to press f3?

And also could someone tell me how disarming used to be used if it's not in 0.95? Like you had to aim and hit f3 or how?

I'm glad they took the advice of letting the tazer do it's job and having them drop the weapon that way. Most cops aren't martial arts experts like Steven Segal. lol

These guys can though:

I'm glad they have a disarm move for execution scenarios.

The baton I think is more of a compliance too. I think the taser is our best answer right now because it allows you to put some distance between yourself and the perp, so he can't simply back-pedal and shoot you in the face repeatedly before you either catch up to him with the baton or resort to shooting him dead.

If you were to tase someone in real life, the electric shock would cause muscle spams (uncontrolled muscle contractions) which then again would/could cause him/her to pull the trigger and thus injure you or bystanders. If you're looking for realism while playing, don't tase armed suspects, instead, shoot them.

You can't simply shoot someone for having a gun. That would land you in court. They have to pose a serious threat by aiming otherwise it's going to be very hard to prove it was justified. And the muscle spasms are only enough to make them not function as normal, it doesn't make everything curl up necessarily. In any case, I think the best course of action out of the three: 1.) Ninja disarm, 2.) Taser, 3.) Shoot, I'd tase (in real life) if possible. If it's pointed at me, I pull the trigger of the gun instead.

I once got 6 stars in IV in around 30 seconds (seriously, I killed just one cop and was fighting another) using just my fists. Note: If I am shooting, it takes MUCH longer and more than 1 dead officer.

the only way i would shoot would be if he was pointing/shooting at me. when i was at my friend i did a remarquable skill when a suicide call guy tried to shoot me. (i think it was more accidentally button pressing :/) but however if he dosen't aim at you, don't shoot at him. Tase him.

Coming from real world experience here... the old saying "Don't take a knife to a gun fight" applies. Being a real world sheriff's deputy in an urban area, I encounter scenes involving firearms on a pretty frequent basis. I can tell you this, if someone is holding a gun at that point my gun is also drawn and I will shoot if there is any sign (verbal, non-verbal, body language, etc...) that indicates they intend to use that firearm. This is not a situation to pull out a taser (only fires about 20 feet accurately) when someone has a firearm. Luckily, I've never had to use my firearm and I hope to keep it that way.

You're also correct regarding the muscular reaction to being shot with a taser. Any time a suspect is holding any type of weapon, it is best not to use the taser if you don't need to. I had a situation where a suicidal man was holding a knife and my concern was that if I tased him he could land on the knife. I chose to slowly approach him and then go hands on with him to minimize the risk of him flopping onto the knife if I used my taser.

For the LCPDFR suicidal call, based on real world protocol, you either talk him into dropping the gun or shoot him.
