I just got my invitation to test BF3's Alpha build. Gonna download it tonight. Anyone else get in on that?

Didn't you have to have Medal of Honor or something in pre-order edition? Anyways, I'll probably wait till the open beta to test it; though I find it ridiculous, that the pre-orderers (I have it pre-ordered since beginning of the year) are not invited. After all, we are financing this.

Yeah this is the ALPHA test, not the Beta. Pre-ordering MoH and BF3 gets you Beta access, which doesn't start for a while yet. I can't wait to try this puppy out tonight.

Betas are kinda like unwrapping a Christmas present on Thanksgiving then wrapping it back up until Christmas. It kinda spoils the game and the hype I get from waiting. I know I'm dating myself with this, but after being one of the OG beta testers for CoD:MW I decided to just be patient. Can't wait for this game to be released though, it's definitely the CoD killer we've been waiting for.

BF (including the BC series) has always been a CoD killer, sadly not many people switch over. Just because people aren't willing to move over with their clans and to learn how to play a war sim, instead of a running and gunning game.

Agreed, but I think the combination of BF3s awesomeness and the projected bloated, re-heated turd that is CoDMW3 will finally put an end to it.

I actually got in because I know some guys from DICE, most other people got chosen by random (mostly veterans). MoH or pre-order is for the beta phase.

Yeah, I've been playing BF since 1942. I've tested quite of few of EA's games. Most recently before BF3, I've been testing SWTOR for the past 4 months. Pretty damn cool MMO.

No it hasn't. The Battlefield series wasn't even competing with Call of Duty's product until Bad Company 2. They were completely different games up until that point.

Dam you all! I am jealous! But anyway, you guys deserve to be in the Alpha, you are BF Veterans.

War-sim and BF are two very very different things.

That said, I agree with unr3al, BF was never made to be a CoD killer, until BC and BC2 hit, they were nothing alike. I am looking forward to BF3 to see exactly how good it is, I've watched trailer after trailer, gameplay demos and screenshots. To be quite honest, the videos look pretty and that is about it thus far.

I'm holding judgement until I play it.

But tell you what, BF3 is going to so kick MW3 in the face when they are released, BF3 had an amazing 12 minute trailer somthing MW3 didn't have.
