Thinking of starting a series with these two characters I'm in the middle of working on.  Jake is a sheriff from the south west and JJ is his son who is a deputy from the same area.  They've been invited to Liberty City to do a reality cop show that features different officers from different areas.  All recordings are done in Liberty City.  I have more characters in the works but I thought I would start off with these two.  I usually do this for my own enjoyment but I thought I might as well share to see what becomes of it.  Keep in mind that this is played as an alternate reality not our own so no real seriousness is going on, just plain fun.

Thank you.  If you have any critique or suggestions please do so.  I haven't used my video editor for these yet, they've been exported from my recorder and uploaded with nothing extra.  I'm not looking to do full screen HD quality but something that looks decent on the large player.  As of right now these have been exported as 1080i and I'm still experimenting.  I have another ready for upload which is a little over 15 minutes long, just waiting for the time to do so. 

 

I'm looking for a truck to use for this character but I have my own requirements it must meet.  I have three models downloaded and one of them is used in the first video.  They can't have a high poly count, non-els ( nice mod but not my style ), prefer a 4-door ( I do have one that's not ), custom light bar not the vanilla, prefer fictional make and model but can be overlooked.

Although, I've heard that it's better to upload a Youtube video at 720i instead of 1080i, not much difference between them visually, but it takes a lot more time to upload 1080i.

Thank you for the kind words.  Another video is up on the first post and I'm uploading another at the moment.  It's a long process so I think I'm going to bed it's almost 6:00am and I need to get some sleep before work.  Got two more waiting to upload after this one finishes, heh.

One question though, what's your progress on other characters?

Also, if your PC can handle those graphics & scripts in MP, I wonder if you considered teaming up with someone who will play as JJ? I'm sure it'll be great either way, just something to consider :)

Honestly I have several characters figured out but getting the voices right is another beast all together.  My and my oldest son have played online with gta quite a bit.  It usually ends up with us just fooling around and terrorizing Liberty City.  He usually has issues with crashes but we're getting closer to him running more stable for longer periods of time.  He will probably end up doing a character with me but it's going to be a challenge on the sound end.  He has two of my grandchildren running around and it's not always quiet.  I actually record his and my audio along with my video.  Also until I give him my headset I get terrible feedback from his end, in other words, I can hear my own voice coming through his speakers.  I just ordered another set so hopefully it's here soon, that'll help some.

 

I did some tests last night and I think I've come to a happy medium to take my video into the editor and do a little more than a straight upload.  I forgot to link all the mods in my videos so now I need to go back there and fix that, so embarrassing.

Awesome videos, very entertaining to watch. Also Subscribed to your youtube channel, looking forward to more videos! Also a quick tip, I noticed in a couple videos when you are waiting for a red light people drive up and hit you like you aren't there, causes crazy traffic issues. If you tap the gas repeatedly when you are sitting there waiting for the light, (not enough to move forward) they should keep at bay like regular traffic. Anyways, nice job!

Thank you OfficerDunn I shall give that a try.  Well I've got a quick video up, about 12 minutes and basically a test.  I ran it through my editor to see if I would lose too much quality and it seemed to work.  If anyone watches it and thinks the quality is bad please let me know but I honestly don't know what else I could do to make it better.  I don't know how many videos I can link in here so I think I'll just post when one is up and not link it in the first post.  They can all be watched here though http://www.youtube.com/user/GerhartRTFO/videos

 

Now all the videos have a link to lcpdfr and a list of mods used except for vehicles and a couple of others.  I hope you enjoy.

I suggest using the LessOvertaking.net mod.

 

When you're stationary, vehicles will stop behind you for a maximum of twenty seconds before trying to drive around you, its very very helpful.

That's odd, I remember replying about that but for some reason it's not showing up. Yea I was thinking about trying that out at some time.
