my question is what about if i whan police one to light up all blue and police2 to light up all red, when in game like have bout at the same time one is one color and the other one another one how do do it ????

You create a vehicle configuration file called "police" and set the environment colours to blue for extra_1,2,3 and 4 and edit the entry in ELS.ini for "Police" file from the generic configuration file to "police" and save both files.

Then you create a new vehicle configuration file and call it "police2", and set the environment colours to red for extra_1,2,3 and 4 and edit the entry in ELS.ini for "Police2" from the generic configuration file to "police2" and save both files.

NOTE: You don't always have to make a new config file. If you just turn the car to "on" and leave it on default_config, you'll get a default ELS 7 config for the car. This config works perfectly fine as-is. You only need multiple config files if you want different settings for different cars.

Can someone please help me? This may not be an issue with ELS or it might be, I am honestly uncertain.

 

When playing in multiplayer, my ELS on my car works just fine. When other people have theirs on it works but the lights run very, very slow; like ELS v6 slow/glitchy. Then, when they turn on the siren, the lights on their car go at normal speed like it is supposed to. I am just lost and have no clue what to do. The other players ELS v7 are working just fine and not having this issue. So I don't know what I did wrong.

Hello everyone, I got some problems. I changed GTA IV original H key(Lights) to MMB(Middle mouse button) and I can now use the siren but only if I press J three times the PRML says ON in the ELS Menu.

I have a few questions, and I'm glad if you or someone out there that you may know could help me.  

**Warning** These question may be noobish and or will offend pro's. Read discretion is advised!

 

The first question is: What does all of the LSTG, SECL, WRNL, PRML and so on, stand for? I know it's shortened words but I can't figure them out. My friend google won't help me either.

2. To activate the siren I need to press J three times OR hold T all the time for it to sound. How do I activate the siren without having to hold a button or without having to activate ALL the lights on the car by pressing the key J three times?

3. How do I turn on PRML since that is the "Real" police lights and once again without having to hold or activate(in this case) the siren.

4. What is "Toggle_Takedowns" and "ToggleExpressMode"? These two don't work for me so I couldn't figure out what they where doing.

I thought I'd post this problem here to avoid clutter in the main ELS V7 thread. I was able to get ELS V7 working on my first installation and was very impressed; the sheer amount of customization options available and how well-done everything else was is truly impressive - kudos to all that worked hard on it.

With that said, however, on subsequent games of GTA IV I would encounter immediate crashes. The game would cycle through the loading screens fine, though within a maximum of three seconds of the Broker safehouse loading the game crashed.

In attempts to rectify the problem I have used the scripthook and dsound files from LCPDFR, and tried the ones included with ELS V7; still crashing. The game runs fine without ELS installed and with ELS V6 installed. I've read and re-read the nicely put together instruction guide and am quite sure that the installation was correct - not to mention that I've reinstalled it several times and did get it to work once.

Here's a photo of my root directory for further reference. If there is any other information I could provide to shed light on the problem, don't hesitate to ask!

Wow! I'm surprised someone has got the same error as me! I've reinstalled my game and I will put ony ELS 7 in the directory and see it that works. I have no idea what the problem is.

You shouldn't post the same thing in multiple topics. Everything here is explained in the manual included.

 

If you have to hold down a key for it to work or the key simply doesn't work in ELS 7:

Check every .asi mod you have. If any key interferes with ELS you have to change it in one of the scripts' configuration files. I found this out because I had to hold down the key for takedowns and cruise lights since I also had the keys to change radio stations on my mobile radio mod set to those. Changing the keys in the radio mod fixed this problem.

 

Note: this suggestion isn't directed towards the quoted post - you have to hold down T because that's the manual siren button (also changes the siren when it is activated)

ELS V7 crashes for me as well, and I'm not to entirely sure what you mean by two ASI Loaders. Could I get the name of two of them? My game ran just fine yesterday the first time it was installed, however now it crashes either during start up, or after I load the game and walk. It says its a SMP40 error or something like that however I haven't changed any vehicles, or anything other than ELS. Can someone help me please? Thanks!

Thankfully, I fixed it. Try reinstalling your game, and install your mods one by one, ELS to begin with, then add, then go in game. Say if you downloaded PoliceHelper and your game didn't crash before with ELS 7 installed, you know what ELS 7 is interfering with. As for me, I just reinstalled, added all my mods at once, and it magically worked. I, however, was lucky it was fixed with a simple reinstall.

How do I disable Lighting Stages. I dislike having to go through all the lights on my police car to just turn on my siren. And in most cases IRL you arent responding with your Traffic Advisor on. How can I make one key just to turn on the primaries and siren?

Just hold alt-J when turning on primaries.  It goes backward through the lighting stages so that you start out on stage three.

EDIT: Ty, also the menu is slow why like after you press alt+M it comes up like 3 mins later

It's actually Ctrl+M, unless you changed something. That would explain it being slower.

how do you save a pattern? do you just type in like e77 or e-77 under default pattern id?

It is important to note the pattern ID codes. These identify a specific flashing pattern within a particular lighting tier and type. Whenever prompted in a VCF to indicate a desired pattern ID, the user should refer to these codes. And, in these cases, the user should simply provide the appropriate numerical digit representing the pattern in question. Left-side zeros, as well as dashes and letters must be omitted.

The number of questions in this thread that could be answered by simply reading the instruction manual is staggering to say the very least. 

 

Also, I did eventually get ELS V7 to work fully and it has been great.  Evidently my save file was corrupted and that was partly causing crashes.  The insta-crashes were potentially defects in my vehicles archive; those have since been fixed.

What do you mean by saying "defects in my vehicles archive" and how did you repair them? Even with new save file my game still crashes 20 meters from the Broker Safehouse or crashes before I appear in the safehouse.
