Blurry textures???

Featured Replies

Why am I getting a blurry texture after i installed in on a model? 2048x2048 correct model for texture, just dont understand why its blurry when installed...any advice? I Made this Texture for the newly release Boston Police cruiser, and it came out like crap, this isnt the first time this has happened....

when you put the texture in go to properties and set bitmap to 2.... (with openIV... not sure how with spark but it should be similar)

I could be the model also. I made a texture for CJ24's Impala and it looked really good. Then I made the exact same one for BxBugg's Impala and it was blurry at certain angles.

Texture was set to mdeium and anistropic was at 8x, this sucks!!! could it be the model?

it's something with the kin file it self the model should be fine try to extract all the "police_sign_1 - 4" and re import them without mipmap

It has to do with the mipmap

I tried everything you guys posted, i think its the model i used...this sucks, because i made a texture for the New release of Boston Police cruisers....ugh!!! cant find any chevy Caprice, to many guys here who post there work dont like to share links to their models when people ask...if any know of any slick top Chevy Caprice, i would greatly apprciate it.

I've never heard about a bug that caused textures to be blurry, it's definitly no model issue. It is just caused by the midmaps, it's to improve the performance. If you have high settings, you won't notice anything, but on medium or low, it'll be visible. By default, all high resolution textures have midmaps, though, as Bonehead said before, you can set them to 1 in OpenIV.

Thaaaaaaaaaaank you Fellas!!! it worked making those changes in properties using open IV worked, no blurries...LOl #Beantown4Life

You're welcome ;P

Thank you for this!! I've been wondering what the problem has been for a long time! One of my vehicles had one out of the four textures coming in blurry. This fixed it!

Thanks again!
