For tonight I present you FIA & LTA Buffalo and sweet old and new LCPD Auxiliary liveries.

What font are you using for LCPD cars? I'd recommend Rockwell Extra Bold, because it's the one used by the NYPD. But the LTA one is perfect!

That last pic of the FIA and LTA looks pretty sketchy. I bet you had to try a few times for that one eh?

Which one is the new aux ? The white and blue/red ? I was in NYC in 2008 and I've only seen the black ones.

Damn, I've made old black liveries thinking they were recent, I'll wait yours for my fleet now :D

The current paint scheme for NYPD Aux is white with blue text. They shifted their school safety, traffic, and auxiliaries away from the dark colored cars to the white ones IN 2008, so they had either not started or just started when you were there.

I'm using Rockwell. I guess you are referring to lettering on trunk and side numbers. These are not in Rockwell as on real car. I try to replicate specific real car and this one has it like that. Problem with NYPD is that they use many variants of their main font (very very similar to Rockwell family) and they change it very often. For example you have cars with Pct. number and unit number written in Rockwell, but there are also cars that have this text in Switzerland or some similar font.

Maybe you are referring to LCPD text on side. In my opinion most skin makers use too wide, too bold, or sometimes too narrow font for it. Also these main font vary between cars. I think that CVPIs have a bit narrower font than Chargers. It is just my opinion and if you don;t like it... you will be able to change it as I will release all source files to public, so anyone with Photoshop will be able to create their perfect livery.

I didn't see any Chargers as Auxiliary units. Only one I found is this one http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_213379-Dodge-Charger-2006.html :D

But it's not NY. LC could buy one Buffalo for Auxiliary Highway Patrol ;)

Sure, I guess that it's mainly Impala for the Aux.

Even if I like the Merit, I don't use it because I didn't find a good model, except the one from LtCaine, but it crashes. Maybe when Pedro will release his awaited pack.

So I mainly use the Cruiser/Buffalo duo. By the way, the Charger from the movie is stunning (great movie too, french title is ridiculous as often : "Metro 123").

 

Anyway, if you can make this livery for the Buffalo, that's great, but I don't want to give you more work, so if you don't have time, I'll try to do it myself based on the one for the Merit or the Cruiser.

New Auxiliary will be available only for Cruiser (maybe for Buffalo if I'll find some spare time). For Merit I plan to make traffic enforcement which is usual NYPD livery just with some changed texts and older variant of it which is also dark blue/black like old auxiliary.

Yep, puts my hack-job Alderney State skins to shame, too (not that it would be hard).

We have to find a way to put 60 liveries on a model, because I want all those awesome textures in my damn game :D

IMO that LCPD text on the side of the merit look much better than on auxiliary cruiser. Great work as always :)

I will check again that text on Cruiser, but as I said they vary between cars, but maybe I just made it wrong. Merit LCPD skins will be in older and newer versions (small unit numbers and small "Police" writings in serif or sans-serif fonts).
