I guess it's worth a try, but as Break says Mac isn't for serious gaming, it's great for other things, I believe it's great for surfing around the internet, it's very fast, it should be great for editing photo's etc. I believe a lot of photographers got Mac.

Erm.. it's the same as Windows photography software. Only Mac is more stable and resistant against viruses.

Mac is generally better for Photography and Music, creative stuff can be handled easier on a Mac from which I heard. You're better with everything else on a Windows PC though.

Also, no Mac isn't resistant against viruses.

You can have a Windows PC as safe as a Mac, simply by using your brain and an anti-virus :teehee:

To clear the air: Macbook Pros generally have better construction quality than a PC, and pretty good hardware that's comparable to a $800+ PC. They are not resilient against viruses, they just have a much smaller OS market share, making them a low priority target. Although due to the popularity of the iPad and other Apple devices lately, about 75% of major viruses in the month of June were for MacOSX, not Windows XP/Vista/7. Microsoft technically does more for security than Apple, such as ASLR (Address Space Layout Randomization) and keeping password storage in separate areas, rather than using something like KeyChain which MacOSX has. In a way, they both have advantages and disadvantages.

The main reason PC's are better for gaming honestly, is because Microsoft has the DirectX API (a method of rendering graphics) and they won't let it go. If Apple, Google or any Unix/Linux companies ever got their hands on it, they'd take it and run. Apple is forced to use OpenGL which is slower, lower quality and is mostly ignored by game developers. This is coupled with the fact that PC users have a significantly larger amount of choices they can make for hardware. This is yet again, both a good and a bad thing because you can potentially get lower quality parts and support depending on who you buy from. MacOSX is often better for photo, music and video editors due to the software that they have a patent on such as Aperture, Final Cut (ever seen the movie 300?) and ProTools to name a few.

I'm just oh so tired of customers coming in and trying to bullshit me or other customers using brand propaganda without any factual basis. I've used and sold both brands, they both have their ups and downs, anyone who won't admit that is a pompous windbag. Also I believe there are 11 dimensions according to String Theory work from a lot of today's modern physicists and scientists, but that's another discussion.
