GTAIV Myths?

Featured Replies

Just curious if anybody has every seen first hand any of the myths behind GTAIV?  I've never experienced anything but I guess there are several myths like Ratman, Tommy V, The LolliePop Girl, Ghosts at certain factories, Lazow Jones doing his show, ect?

Anybody ever seen anything at all or just a bunch of BS?

Perhaps you could set out to discover them by yourself...

Use a flashlight mod, trench coat and set the weather to lightening... sounds fun

I have looked at a few locations while on patrol although never seen anything yet.  I sometimes make it a point checkout the old abandoned hospital, casino, Sprunk factory and mansion every now and then, but have never seen anything out of the ordinary.  I did see the hobo in the subway with the glass cat eye where all the various railways connect and intersect.

Figured they were just myths anyhow.

Well, I took this picture a while ago, though I decided the other day that I would upload it this week, as well as post it in gtaforums. Anyway, here it goes:

I saw an UFO in GTA IV some time, months, ago while I was sailing at some miles from the coast. I don't remember where was it exactly, but I think it could be at some miles from the ship graveyard of Alderney (where is the biggest sunken freighter ship). It could be also at some miles from, more or less, the Alderney Casino, in the other extreme of the map.

As you can see, this is one of the few times someone takes an screenshot of what says to have seen...

A side note, it's EFLC, I use the badass Niko instead of Luis.

Myth or True?

Maybe it was a Police Helicopter with the spotlight?

The light rays look somewhat similar.

Nope, it's not. I don't remember much about the day I took the picture but I can assure you that's not a police chopper. Here some reasons, apart of the fact that I remember that I didn't have wanted level (my word):

a) if it was an helicopter at least part of the fuselage would be visible, unless it was flying very high, something that police choppers don't do when they are attacking you in a place without tall buildings and so).

b) if a police helicopter is in the air it means that the player has more than 3 stars. At being in the sea there would be police boats and, therefore, the sky would be filled with bullets impacting on Niko and the boat.

I have the original full size picture in my computer, I could upload tomorrow, since I am not in my computer at the moment, so you can analyze it better

EDIT: now I remember, I've heard of a mystery - I think it's been actually confirmed its veracity - about dead hobos floating the waters of the sea, I think near of the Alderney ship wrecks.

Don't police copters also patrol around bridges, even if you aren't wanted?

I was in the sea far from the city (back when I took the screenshot I used to take the sailboat and go to open sea with bad weather:P), anyway choppers on patrl don't have the spotlights turn on, right?

 Lazow Jones doing his show

So that hes last name, I always thought that he never got giving one...or it that his actor last name?

Yup, the real guy and the guy on Integrity 2.0 is Lazlo Jones.  A real guy and in the game using his real name.  You can look him up in the lcpd database if you go to the Tw@t (Twat) cafes around town.  He's got a record of drug arrests and solicitation and was accused of killing his sister, whom may have been a victim of Eddie Lowe.  It's kinda buried but it's there at the bottom of one of the webpages.

There was one time when I was pissing about in that abandoned factory in Alderney, and started firing at some cans on the ground. I had subtitles on at the time, and all of a sudden they popped up as if somebody was talking, but you couldn't hear anybody. After scouring the place for like, 15 minutes, I gave up and assumed it was a ghost.

After a bit of research, I found out that it was the bouncer at the nearby strip club telling me to GTFO for firing. He was out of earshot, but his subtitles popped up. Again, not a myth, but scared me a bit at the time. Not sure if this happens on PC, as this happened on 360.

I heard this one myth about a mod, that gave you the ability to be a cop in game...... it was called LCPDRF or something like that... Let me know if you ever find it
