How far in GTA IV should I play?

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Me again, I'm wondering exactly how far into GTA IV I should play before installing LCPDFR. I really do not want to re-play the entire game as I've done it too many times to count on the Xbox. I've also researched the Simple Native Trainer and understand that it has a feature that unlocks all of the islands.

So, should I just play the first mission then save and use SNT every time I start the game?

or

Should, I play deep enough into the game to unlock the islands permanently?

Reason I'm asking is because I am a bit wary of installing SNT, I don't want a whole bunch of unnecessary mods...

Thanks again for all of you guys' help.

If you go on duty in LCPDFR, the islands are unlocked automatically.

You should get a 100% savegame as I did, you can install xLiveless and easily install a 100% savegame, that might be the best way.

Isn't dsound recommended by lcpdfr? And how would I install a 100% save game?

You need xliveless for 100% savegames. The only thing is you lose access to Games for Windows. Installing savegames can be found in the readme that's mostly attached to it.

Yes, it is.

xLiveless works fine, it just removes the whole Windows Live function which will make you unable to play GTA IV on multiplayer.

There's a 100% savegame here which you might like: http://www.thegtaplace.com/downloads/f5693-gta-iv-pc-100-complete

To install the savegame, simply put the SGTA file in here: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\savegames

Remember, after you've installed xLiveless you need to do the first mission once again, and then save the game, then there will be a savefile in your savegames folder, and you can easily extract the 100% savegame over and overwrite it.

You should complete the first mission. I've finished all the missions and play LCPDFR with my save games normal with no problem.

Whether it works or not, and I have no reason to doubt him. It's a far more long winded approach than simply downloading a savegame file and replaceing it over your own.

As to the origional question I recomend playing untill you get given the phone which is first or second mission. cant recall exactly :p

After that LCPDFR opens all the islands so no need to go further imo. Unless you have a passion for the internet cafe's :/
