Consider Adding Lockers at the Police Stations

Featured Replies

I am new here  ( only downloaded and been playing this awesome mod for 2 days now)  but I love it!.

One suggestion from me.. offer storage lockers at the Police stations  to allow officers to store weapons they have confiscated while on duty for future use etc.

I am aware there are mods  and "helpers" and cheats out there that allow you to basically spawn any weapon anytime u want... but that takes away from the authentic type atmosphere.

However with lockers.. players can legit take for example a M-4  from a gunfight taken off a deceased perp... and store it temporarely in his cruisers trunk.  Later it can be taken back to the station and placed in a locker etc.  When he get's back on his game again in the future.. that M-4 will be in the locker  and can be taken on duty etc  and stored while on duty in the cruisers trunk etc.

This is how I did it  and most officer's now carry an assault rifle in their cruisers trunk etc.

This idea keep the game more authentic.

Just something to consider for the future.

As far as I know, cops don't routinely use firearms taken off dead suspects. Not sure how it's more "authentic" than just having an armory (which police departments *do* have).

I know a higher up with a nearby police department. I was talking with him about it not too long ago, and he said that usually guns that are confiscated would be destroyed, but occasionally if they can prove practical use for it, they can keep stuff and issue it to officers. He said that the department has gotten a few AR-15s that way.

Sticks and stones may break bones, but 5.56 fragments on impact.

This might happen, but it would certainly never be issued to an officer to keep in a locker!!

It would be kept in an armoury and issued from there.

His department is more liberal with firearms policy, as long as it's a 9, .40 or a .45, you can carry your own gun if it meets certain standards. G36C's are issued as patrol rifles to certain officers, but officers can purchase and use their personally owned AR-15s, so it is more likely that the guns are personally owned.

Huh. You learn something new every day.

IIRC, for a while, the LAPD SWAT Team used confiscated M1911s that were later modified until they scrounged enough money for new Kimbers.

Well, if there is a locker model, then it might be possible. Just like Abraxas made his chairs and desks and stuff in the station, if we can find lockers, we can use those. Then, all the LCPD:FR team has to do is get the  coordinates or whatever on the locker, script something to hold an object/weapon in the locker, and then script a button for it. Possible?
