UnarmedCopsIV is a .Net script for GTA IV and/or EFLC that removes firearms from police officers giving you unarmed police, this is a beta release and may contain bugs.

Features:

Configurable using included UnarmedCopsIV.ini file

GTA IV 1.0.7.0 OR EFLC 1.1.2.0

If you have installed LCPDFR properly nothing else is required.

Copy/Extract the included files into your Scripts folder, usually:

Some people asked for this; good mod.

Very good, but can it be toggled so you can have them back you in a fire fight? And can they perform arrests for you without a gun?

At this time no, however when I add this feature it will take up to five seconds for them to draw a weapon.

Also there is a slight conflict with this and LCPDFR, but is slightly rare, if you get an error just press the ['@] key and type reloadscripts and enter, and post your ScriptHookDotNet.log.

Any way to get them to draw their weapon any faster? What worries me is that they'll stop jogging up to an enemy NPC to arrest him. Sometimes I rely on NPC arrests instead of my own so they'll stop shooting the enemy. Or that they might get slaughtered instantly in a fire fight.

In the next version I will add the ability to set the time between weapon deletion (5 seconds default) which will also affect the time it may take for an ai cop to draw a new weapon, when unarmed and an enemy has a gun they seem to run away from the enemy, so at the moment only cops with rifles and shotguns will fire on an armed suspect.

I'd probably try to adjust that if the scripts give you the tools to do so. I'd expect AI cops to be at least reasonably fast on drawing their weapons. They suck at shooting now, so that's not a problem, it's just annoying that they fire on people. But I can't even think of them taking 5 seconds to draw or put away their weapons. Seriously, count to 5 Mississippi. See how long that is. If you can, I'd make the toggle time near instant. 1-2 seconds at the longest. Maybe write it the way ELS fix works. Perhaps if you're able to repeat the ELS fix coding, maybe you can even get ELS fix to work 100% of the time. :P I have to struggle with AI cops to put their lights on. They turn them off as soon as I hit the button unless they're specifically a called backup unit.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but is anyone else having trouble downloading this from the site? The mirror link has expired, and the main download's RAR file seems to have problem extracting the files.

I'm hoping to use this mod in conjunction with various UK-orientated ones, so any help would be great :)

Yeah, I can't download things either (unless I have a direct link to the file). Navigating through the downloads section creates a database error message for me.

Out of curiosity, is there a way to make it so that cops are unarmed of firearms, but can still use a baseball bat? I ask because I use the ASP Baton mod, which uses the baseball bat slot.

Not at this time, I might update it after I have finished IVDashCamV2.
