Pointless Features

Featured Replies

It seems in some of the countless updates "useless" features have been being added. It honestly gets me even more pissed off when these are added that we cant turn them off. Like fuck how hard is it to make an option to disable the getting into rear vehicle randomly button or disable the whole fucking apartment personal vehicle shit that three people asked for. I play lspdfr to play lspdfr not to play some fucking life simulator. Please... take some criticism for once and don't ban me just because im fed up with these problems. Which reminds me instead of adding "useless" features we cant disable that end up tanking on our cpu ruining the game for alot of players just add some more fucking settings instead of having them hidden in you're wiki or just not even having them as an option. Please discuss, im sure some people can agree with me.

  • When did you conduct a survey on how many people like the feature? Genuinely curious where you're getting that info. Also, the addition of apartments does not impact your FPS or cause random crashes.

  • I wanted to chime in and address this part.  LSPDFR is roleplay.  You're playing as a cop and doing things cops would do in real life (excluding the people who just mess around and do bad cop).  When

  • You complain about how long it takes to get into the game, but that's your first time. After that you can save your character and your car and your loadout (iirc). Literally all that junk you cried ab

I don't really see how these "useless features" really hurt the experience. Like how would spawning as Trevor or Franklin change the game play of lspdfr at all? I see where you're coming from when you say you play lspdfr for lspdfr, I think we all do. But I just don't see how you can get this riled up about spawning somewhere else with a different car and at a different player model. Also for the average player who is new and doesn't know how to install EUP and all the other mods I bet its nice to be able to get in and have a customization player.

And I don't want to sound like a broken record and say what everyone else says but the team that develops lspdfr is small and they don't make people pay for lspdfr.

One thing I can somewhat agree with you on is I wish all the options where present in the .ini file from download but I think they have done a very good job of displaying the settings and features of lspdfr on the website.

You say you want some better features. So my question is what kind of things do you think should be added?

Im not talking about spawning talking about spawning in as normal gta im talking about that bullshit create your character, have an apartment stuff. And yes it is a small development team im not asking for triple aaa fucking masterpiece im asking for a couple of setting like damn.

Lspdfr was perfectly fine the way it was. I get you want new features but dont you think stability should be the top priority. If you really wanna add new things how about some callouts. Instead of just pursuits and robberies why not add things people want. Welfare checks, Normal calls, we play lspdfr for a calm police experience. Why not do something plugin dev's wont do, make some good callouts.

I get you guys wanna listen to your players but dont you think these thing should be thought through or voted on? If you're gonna add new features atleast give us the option to disable some of the things.

You don't have to create a character. If you select preset characters in the character selection menu, you can pick a regular cop ped to play as. You don't have to spawn at the apartment, you can change the spawn location in the interaction menu, or just don't load the plugin at startup and load it manually after the game starts.

You obvious dont see what i mean im talking about the entire fucking thing. Yeah I can spawn at the police station. Yes I can choose a preset. The problem is how ever since this was added Lspdfr crashes a fuckton, It's become unstable and just an entire other thing you're computer has to deal with. Yeah I run a semi low spec pc. It's not just me literally constant complaining for 1080's, i7's etc something this should run on. The apartment thing was just to further my point, it was a feature no one asked for, barely anyone liked and we didnt have an option. Im not trying to rant on you're whole framework but were here to play lspdfr not roleplay.

Not sure why you'd even think that. You do realize GTA Online has all of this stuff and runs exactly the same as singleplayer, right?

Tons and tons of people wanting more roleplay style plugins would strongly disagree. Have you seen Computer+? It's literally paperwork simulator.

If you really want a suggestion how about you go from
Start game - Load lspdfr - Go on duty configure character - make loadout - spawn car - play
To
Start game - Load lspdfr - Go on duty - Play

Suggestions on how to implement it:
Create loadouts in lspdfr menu
Create Preset Outfits in lspdfr
Make trainerv obsolete

Or how about

Creating voting page on website to vote on new features
Add more settings
Improve lspdfr.ini to include all settings
Make more callouts
Improve search system on website

Start game

F4 - type LoadPlugin "LSPD First Response" (hint: you can even press Tab to autocomplete!)

Type ForceDuty

Play

ForceDuty will spawn you with whatever outfit and inventory you were using in your previous game.

You don't even have to ForceDuty if you're using a preset character if I remember correctly.

Awh yes I will definetly use the two pistols shotgun and un configured ped as well as use no car.
You are obviously to blind to see my point,
As i said before i used this to further my point. NOT MY MAIN POINT.

See my edited quote that highlights that you get your previous inventory. Inventories are defined in the inventory.xml file. I'm not sure what "unconfigured ped" means but if you mean with no outfit, again, reread my post. You get your previous outfit with ForceDuty.

To get a car type spawnandwarp modelname. No one here is trying to make a trainer, if you want a car there are ways to get one without going to the police garage.

And no one here asked for a trainer. I suggested an addition to the lspdfr since you guys are so focused on new features.

I meeeean, there's even posts about it today...

I will see about adding all the options to the .ini so that you can see them without looking at the Wiki, but we strongly feel that the Wiki is a valuable resource where we can explain things much better and provide up to date information.

The Wiki pages have hundreds of thousands of views, so I don't feel as though they are hidden away.

As Sam said, we've had quite a few people ask for more apartments actually. As I said, you can easily bypass the apartment stuff. Why would we remove a feature some people do like simply because you and your friends don't like it? Having it in there doesn't hurt those of you that don't like it, but removing it certainly would hurt those that do.

Not to be insulting to it, but i really only about three hours ago and it's what really set me off.

Awh man you got me there, on something that wasn't my main point. Im just going to keep saying this. What I asked: an option to disable it.
It's obvious to me how blinded you are when you took that one thing out of it.

Also @Sam no offence but as I was saying before that was about three people.

I wanted to chime in and address this part.  LSPDFR is roleplay.  You're playing as a cop and doing things cops would do in real life (excluding the people who just mess around and do bad cop).  When you approach a driver's door on a traffic stop, do you even think it in your head saying hello to the driver? When near a fellow officer, do you say hello? If yes, that is roleplay.  A vast majority of the community - myself included - roleplay the hell out of LSPDFR to the point where we go and investigate scenes in depth even after we've shot the suspect, cleared the crash scene, etc.

Roleplay has been around for decades, even back to things you may not even realize is considered roleplay.  It's much more popular than people realize.

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with just hopping in to pull people over, give them a ticket and move on.  Roleplay is not mandatory with LSPDFR, but it does enhance the gameplay significantly.

I never said (although it might have seemed that way) that it wasnt a cool feature I wanted it to be optional, I... WE want options as a community most people just wanna hop in and play lspdfr while yes roleplaying.

Suggestion:

Add more to companion app and make Sync more useful to players

The ability to have your own character isn't just about roleplay, it's about diversity and having your own character - even yourself in the game.  Take a look at all the screenshots and videos of LSPDFR, how many people actually use the vanilla officer/deputy peds vs their own custom ped?  Even back in 0.3, people were using Skin Creator and/or EUP to have their own character.  0.4 introduced the character system because it was wanted, and because it is being used like crazy.

No one is forcing you to take extra time to make a character.  Just click done when the character creator comes up and you're good to go with the default that comes up. Will even said as long as you have a character made all you have to go is load LSPDFR and forceduty - you're good to go like in 03.

Having read through this thread, it seems to me like the heart of the issue is the crashing and potentially other issues you're experiencing.  I'm sorry that you're having problems, and we'd be glad to help if you want to make a new thread.  However, there are plenty of reasons as to why the game crashes, and I've yet to run into any issues that were a result of character creation.
