About

Bait Car is a plugin that allows you to catch car thieves in the act. Select a vehicle model, wait for it to arrive, park it somewhere, hide down the street, and wait for the car thieves to come in. Once someone steals the vehicle, follow them and the on screen prompts to proceed.
Vehicle models, Ped models, Weapons used in scenarios, wait times, keybinds, etc. are fully customizable in the configuration file.
Vehicles can be re-used multiple times.
Multiple suspects can now take the bait car!

Currently Supports

RAGE Plugin Hook 1.89 & 1.90 (Latest)
LSPDFR 0.4.9 (Build 8037+ required for new API functions. Older versions will work, but will crash the plugin when you call for backup)

Installation

Extract the included zipped folder to any location (ex. your desktop)
Drag all files from the "Grand Theft Auto V" folder included with this plugin into your main Grand Theft Auto V game folder.
If asked to replace any files, select replace.
Once all files have been copied, start up your game, and go on duty with LSPDFR to load the plugin.
Installation is complete

Built for Rage Plugin Hook v1.90/LSPDFR v0.4.9 (0.4.8037.37597, Latest)
Fixed detection issues when player parked the bait car (green circle not showing up)
Fixed crash on plugin load when there is an invalid keybind in the configuration file
Fixed suspects going to same offset from vehicle, bumping into each other
Added link to list of possible keybinds to configuration file
Fixed CompuLite crash
Fixed rare occurrence where suspects could not be pulled out at gunpoint (felony stop)

Thanks for the update. Any chance you might implement a modifier key for activating the mod at some point?

I'm using a laptop and ive looked in to the ini. files and have tried to change them to keyboard keys but it only appears to have controls such as dpad controls which I cannot use and or controls for a controller, if you could provide help with how I can get controls to work for a PC or laptop that would be greatly appreciated (I can get the main screen up by pressing F7 but then cannot move up and down the menu or select a car)

My laptop does not have a Numpad so I can get the main menu up by pressing F7 but cannot navigate menu up, down or select as the keys are NumPad Controls

Try adding these to the .ini. For some reason they aren't in there but this is output from the RPH log. Change them to keys you have/want, obviously.

menuSelect=NumPad5

I have prob with this mod, I get the menu but from there I cannot do anything , cannot shoos and order any Bait car.

My keyboard does not have a NUMPAD. Is there any way to change the keys used for navigating the menu? I'd like to do so otherwise I cant even use this mod. It woul have to be used with a modifier probably as well.

This was working til I updated Rage. Now I can load the menu but as soon as I select the car LSPDFR crashes.. Hope there is a fix soon!

i agree, it still needs updated to work like the real bait car, if you update this like - pressing K locks doors and kills engine, also, i can never get more than 2 stings before it starts having issues, so unfortunately, it looks like this again
