Cop Holster is an RPH plugin that adds some unique functionality to the police handgun holster. It removes the handgun from the holster if a pistol is a drawn. It also comes with intimidation mode -- a simple feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Cop Holster works with both the player and AI officers.

Requirements
RAGEPluginHook 0.23 or higher.

 

Installation
Place CopHolster.dll and CopHolster.xml in your Plugins folder.
When ingame, open the RPH console (default F4) and type LoadPlugin CopHolster.dll.

 

Features

  • Dynamic holsters for both the player an AI officers.
  • Animations that automatically play when holstering and unholstering.
  • Intimidation mode, a feature that allows you to put your hand on your holster. Toggle with Right Shift Key (keyboard) or Left DPad (controller).
  • Highly configurable! Turn off animations, change keys, add new ped models for Cop Holster support, you name it.

 

Questions
Does this come with RDE support?
The RDE Cop Holster config file is in the RDE 3.1 download.

 

Does this come with EUP support?
Yes. Cop Holster comes with support for EUP 7.5.

 

How does Cop Holster work?
All ped models in GTA have what are called drawables. They are pieces of clothing or equipment that can vary between instances of that model. Many of the default cop models have two holster drawables. One is empty, and one has a pistol. Cop Holster simply changes between those two drawables depending on if you have your pistol drawn or not to give the illusion that you are taking the pistol out of the holster.   


I'm a ped model developer and would like to make my model work with Cop Holster. How would I go about doing that?

Current version partially doesn't work.
When you draw the pistol it actually goes out of the holster but when you holster it it's still invisible.
Hope it gets fixed; Even tho it's a fairly old script, it's still the only one of its kind, so we need it working!

I Have an Issue, Sometimes on my Main game, the weapon won't holster 😕

It will just go away and the holster will remain Empty, On other saves, it works

Hey, guys! I have a solution that seems to be working for the holster-quick problem. Just add in the LSPDFR.ini the following line:

 

Ambient.DisablePlayerHolsteringActions = true

Does that take away the default GTA holstering/unholstering animation and only have the cop holster animation? Also, is there a way to fix gun not going back into holster when holstering? (I use a Max Payne 3 Glock model for pistol)

For my part it removes the animation of the exit and re-entry of the weapon in the holster by defect to give place to the cop-holster animation which corrects well the empty holster. As regards the model of your weapon I do not know how to help you I use the default one 🙂

I put that into my game, I use EUP and tried to use the stock combat pistol as well, the default GTA animation is still happening then it does the cop holster animation but my holster will still be empty. Any suggestions?

Man I hope this mod gets an update one day that fixes the not re holstering issue. I solved this a couple of ways for myself. If I just wana put away my gun, then I cycle to my taser which automatically resets my gun and then cycle to open hands. Also when arresting, the animation re holsters for you anyway. I might try to look through the settings to see if there is something that I can change to fix it.

 

Pie did state over a year ago that he was working on a fix, as he had said for a lot of his other mods. I am assuming the guy is just busy as hell, especially with this virus, and he has a lot of mods that need work. I'm not getting my hopes up as I do have some work arounds as I stated above. Its just kinda frustrating is all.

why isnt cop holster still not working for me. Off duty it works but when i go on duty it does not reholster the pistol and my friend that also uses cop holster his works on duty without any problems thats what im not understanding and he is using the same stuff i am.

how come the creator of this mod in 2019 said that he was going to be updatingthis mod about the holstering bug and it never happened and its almost mid 2020 in july looks like someone else needs to be in control of this mod since it seems were being lied too about the mod being updated and dozens of people are having the holstering bug

Hi I installed the plugin and the animation works however the intimidation mode doesn't and when I go to type it into the console it says the plugin does not exist eventhough i'm using a part of it

Hi guys. I may have a fix this has just worked for me. Go in game as normal let everything load go on duty. when done go into the console by pressing f4 type unloadplugin CopHolster.dll. Then go into the console again and type loadplugin CopHolster.dll. To me this plugin needs to be loaded last

I dont know if you know this but theres another holster that goes on the front of vest that has two variations, it typically spawns on the merrywether guys. maybe you could look into adding it?
