** NOTE REGARDING RPH CRASHES **

If your GTA V crashes to the desktop, and RPH says that the crash was most likely caused by Keep Calm...to put it simply, it most likely was not caused by Keep Calm.

RPH tries to detect which plugin caused the crash by calculating which plugin was running at the time of the crash. Keep Calm runs constantly in the background, so naturally, RPH will think that Keep Calm is the culprit whenever you have a game crash.

GTA V can CTD for any number of reasons. Keep Calm does not do anything heavy enough to cause a game crash...I am not saying that it will never happen, but it has never happened in the history of Keep Calm's development. Anyone who has reported a CTD crash so far has had their issues stemming from elsewhere.

If you get an RPH crash that says Keep Calm was the cause, try un-installing Keep Calm, or disabling it from starting in the RPH settings. If the crashes persist, your issues are being caused by something else.

If the crashes go away, then re-install Keep Calm by downloading the latest release from LCPDFR.com. If the crashes then return, we need to diagnose the issue further, and you should post a comment here (or in the forum topic) so we can look into it.

** IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THE ENTITY PERSISTENCE MOD!! **

If you use the Entity Persistence mod by FtDLulz, you need to do ONE of two things...

  • If ped persistence is enabled, ensure that it is set to only 'persist' dead peds, not live ones (this is the default setting, to my knowledge)
  • OR...Disable ped persistence entirely

If ped persistence is enabled, and set to 'persist' LIVE peds, then Keep Calm will have NO effect at all!! (Not to mention that you will have performance issues if you do that!)

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

Requirements
You must have at least version v0.41 of the RAGE Plugin Hook installed, LSPDFR v0.3.1, as well as v1.6.0.1 of the Stealth.Common DLL, which is packaged with this release. Keep Calm will check these versions on startup, and will refuse to run if older versions are installed.

You must have a fully legal, non-pirated version of GTA V.

Installation
- Copy the Keep Calm.dll and Keep Calm.ini files into the Plugins folder of your GTA V directory.

- Copy the Stealth.Common.dll file into your main/root GTA V directory.

Features
- Nearby drivers and pedestrians should not panic in the event of gunfire (police officers are excluded)
- Some customization is available via the config file
- Peds spawned by LSPDFR and LSPDFR plugins are excluded, to eliminate conflicts with callout plugins

Usage
- Press the toggle keybind (CTRL + 9 by default) to start/stop Keep Calm
- Keep Calm will start on it's own by default, unless the auto-start is disabled in the config file

Known Issues
Please note that GTA V does not always provide access to every pedestrian and vehicle in the area, and some peds may spawn AFTER the "calming" function has already been triggered. It runs in the background continuously, but each ped has to be modified individually.

As a result, some drivers and pedestrians may still panic in the event of gunfire. This may improve as new versions of the RAGE Plugin Hook are released.

This plugin has been released with the intent of minimizing the panic attacks experienced by the AI.

The panic attacks will NOT be eliminated completely, however, this plugin should hopefully minimize them enough to make the game more enjoyable. The main intent with this plugin is to not have drivers run officers over when they are in the middle of making an arrest after a pursuit.

What's New in Version 1.0.0

VERSION 1.0.0

Great to hear Stealth, I don't seem to have any problems with the plugin to be honest, the only time peds will over react to shots fired is when the AI police or gang members do it. Not sure if anyone else has reported this lately though.

Is there a new version coming soon? I really love this plugin.

As soon as I can. I was testing with it over the past two nights, and it's been crashing GTA V completely on startup, for no apparent reason. No code changes at all, and it's been working fine for like, a week. So I gotta figure out whats wrong.

I hope it is not a major mistake. :/ There was a GTA V Update yesterday....

Probably one of the most necessary mods for this game! Awesome work.

Crashed GTA on load, RPH41, took it out and worked fine

couldn't find anything in my .log file, but it was the only change I made from my recording setup.

With 1.0.0, I've noticed a huge performance impact (went from 60fps to 25fps). Am I the only one?

IIRC, this mod is kind of gimmicky, just because it's features can be made via editing .meta or other text files, without any performance drops. Shots fired reaction, brawling, etc. It's more complicated method I guess, but it's more performance-friendly. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We just need a person who can make those changes right way and speaking normally (hi Zippo, how's it goin?)

Really? I tested the performance multiple times and I didn't see any difference at all. I had other people tell me the same thing, no performance impact.

Nevermind, false alert.

Dunno what happened, since the first time I used it I had really bad framerate, and removing it and reloading LSPDFR did solve the "issue". But I just retested a few minutes ago, and everything is fine.

So, no performance impact. Sorry for the trouble

Version 1.0.0 is amazing by the way

I saw a performance drop as well, and removed. I tried turning off the pedestrian option, and reducing the radius to 100. Things were still pretty choppy. I'll try it again.

Edit: Tried a reboot and reinstall mod. That didn't work. The framerate seems to really drop in the populated areas. Head out to Blaine County, around Harmony and everything is fine.

Same, huge drops when this plugin is turned on. Using it without peds function, just vehicles, and 80 metres radius.

Ok i am not alone. Does it help to use lower settings (no peds, lower radius)?

Same here, 10-15fps drop in the center of the city. No problem at all in less populated areas :)

I don't know what to tell you guys. I have zero frame drops, and people who have tested it for me didn't have any either. And my laptop is nothing special.

I wonder if there's something else conflicting with Keep Calm, or maybe just too many mods installed? It could be anything, really.

What happens if you turn off both peds and vehicles? I know it won't be doing anything at that point, but I'm just curious to see if you still get lag.

I don't believe it is this mod, I've noticed that since the last game update I've been getting lag spikes and GTA V eating up all my ram even without ragehook in use. But then again it could be that I have a few vehicle & script mods in use.

Like I said, it can be almost anything. I once installed a high poly CVPI in my police slot and I got an out of memory error just after startup.

Yeah it could be anything, there's not much that can be done to be honest. Mods will make the game unstable.

If it's a vehicle mod you should get the fps drops instantly ingame, not only when going on duty. I get fps drops ONLY when I'm on duty, so it must be plugins activated when on duty. I tried removing and changing my plugins set but only when I removed Keep Calm my fps went up by alot and now it runs smooth

Hmm thats strange, you don't get the FPS drop off duty? Maybe it is a plugin then, are all of your plugins updated to use the latest ragehook? I know its silly asking but its worth checking as some may not be optimised for 0.41.

I miss read that, half asleep lol. Disregard

When you add everything together, that is what creates the lag, not Keep Calm on it's own. I have had lots of people tell me that they have no issues with this version.

If you'd be willing to try this, I wonder how your system would react to running Keep Calm on a vanilla/stock version of GTA V (i.e. no other mods)

Without the mods folder and no plugins you mean?
