MTFO

Enhance traffic control and AI behavior when you are responding to a call with your lights and siren active. MTFO aims to create a more realistic and immersive experience by making the AI drivers react in a more intelligent and 'human-like' way to your sirens, rather than swerving all over the place.

Features:

Extensive customization of AI actions via the MTFO.ini file. Configuration is reloaded when going on/off duty.

  • Opticom Intersection Control: As you approach intersections with traffic lights, this feature will automatically turn the light green in your direction. This can be disabled via the EnableOpticom setting in the configuration file.

  • Intelligent Yielding: On highways, vehicles traveling in the same direction as you will switch lanes if they are blocking your path, if no lane is available they will attempt to come to a smooth stop on the wide of the road. They will attempt to find a safe space to pull over if you are in the furthermost right lane.

  • Oncoming Traffic Braking: Vehicles in the oncoming lane will slow down or come to a stop as you pass them on highways, rather than aggressively swerving. This is controlled by the EnableOncomingBraking setting.

  • Dynamic Intersection Clearing: When you are approaching a major intersection (with traffic lights or stop signs), cross-traffic will be instructed to stop, clearing the way for you without having to navigate around other vehicles. Toggled via EnableIntersectionControl.

  • Around Player Overtaking: When you are stopped, vehicles behind you will attempt to safely overtake your vehicle rather than getting stuck behind you. This is particularly useful during traffic stops or when you are stationary on a roadway for any reason. This is managed by the EnableAroundPlayerLogic setting.

With the update to v4, the custom yielding now primarily functions on freeways/highways to make yielding more realistic in these scenarios. Please do not use your old ini; replace it with the new one; it will not function properly with v4, as I have rewritten the majority of the codebase.

- Almost complete redesign of vehicle yielding. Custom yielding now primarily focuses on highways/freeways rather than city environments, with much more intelligent yielding based off lane and road position.
- Your old ini file is NOT compatible with v4, please replace your current ini with the new one.

How can you change this so that the AI vehicles consider each other?

May not be a ton I can do here as ai is still ai. Send the location where this happens if you get a chance I can try and mess with it a bit

This is mod outperforms every ai traffic & pursuit mods currently available for lspdfr. The traffic behaviour is better than richs police enhancment mod.
These are some little bugs i found 

ai ambient police backup some times trying to move away from the road to our code 3 sirens instead of chasing the supect. happens only one time after that they behave normal.

some callout such as escorting vip they going crazy to our code 3 lighting and doesnt start the escort

This mod is a fantastic idea and adds a lot to the immersion. However, I’ve still noticed odd traffic behaviors during stops — vehicles are slowly creeping around me, both on the right-hand side through the dirt and on the left-hand side   feels like Night of the Living Dead, but with AI drivers instead of the undead. 😂

Would love to see some tweaks to improve traffic compliance during stops. Still, major props to the creator

Thanks, and the around player stuff still needs improvement, which is why it is disabled by default for now

Is there a way to not make traffic pull off the road super far? They tend to drive clear off the shoulder and hit walls, trees, or drive way out in the grass. Would like them to slightly pullover to make room if that makes sense.

Awesome concept. Cant speak for Opticom because we don't use them in my area, but as far as traffic goes...unfortunately gta ai reacts normally to the way irl traffic reacts, and its aggravating as f*ck. This makes the ai react closer to the way we wish traffic reacts irl. But I do love the concept, and for that 5 stars.

Great mod but has some issues, if driving directly behind AI will swerve left and right until it either stops or crashes into you lol

also AI often rapidly accelerates to the side and crashes into either building or another car

Plugin works much better than last update, the AI actually moves over which is a huge improvement in general and off duty so guys please be appreciative of the creators hard endeavor's.

Hello, great plugin! One suggestion I have is can there be a setting that sets a wait time before a car attempts to overtake you? When I have EnableAroundPlayerLogic=True if I am stopped in traffic like at a red light or something, as soon as I turn my lights on the car behind me tries to overtake before I even hit the accelerator. If I could set like a wait period for a few seconds or something before they attempt overtaking it would be perfect. Thanks!

Great mod, it would be awesome if the AI could move around vehicle when ELS is on. 

 

Currently AroundPlayerLogicOnlyInVehicle=False and EnableAroundPlayerLogic=True doesn't work when ELS is on. AI seems to overtake when I only turn my lights off

I have been on duty about ten times an unfortunately one hasn't been generated. Should it be in the plugins folder next to the dll and pdb files?

EDIT: Disregard, I didn't have it in the right folder for some reason.

Trying this for the first time, just want to confirm, is this a complete replacement for the mod cleartheway? Just don't want to cause conflicts by using clear the way with this.

Yes its a replacement, MTFO is to make yielding more realistic to how it would be in real life.

Traffic stops having your lights on cars should pass on the left but sometimes ai gets crazy and rams into back your patrol car

Most WIP part currently is the vehicles being tasked around your car when stopped, I will continue to mess with it. The difficulty is that if, for any reason, they get too close to the back of your car, they cannot back up since vehicles stack behind them causing them to get stuck. Have you noticed this happening more on highways or on one-lane roads?
