Darker Nights 1.4

(7 reviews)

ABOUT:

If you want to have darker nights in GTAV but you don't want to use ENB or Shaders <--- these files are for you. It will change timecycle values without any graphic mods and fps drops. After installing via OIV you will experience some darkass nights! at night you will need to use searchlights, flashlights and heli assistance with searchlights in the dark. get some better immersion when you're at nightshift duty!

INSTALLATION:

1)  ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP FIRST!!!

2) Drop all (10 .xml) files located in "DN" into

     mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/timecycles

3) enjoy!

BEWARE:  This mod is for Singleplayer only! DO NOT USE MODS ONLINE OR YOU WILL GET BANNED!!!

KNOWN BUGS:  I haven't experienced this by myself but it is reported that it comes to graphic display bugs if you choose "cloudy" as weather option via trainer. I highly recommend to avoid this option until I have fixed that issue!   fixed in V1.2

V 1.1 :   edited all timecycle files for a better immersion and to fit better to daytime.

simply overwrite all my old timecycle files with the new ones.

V1.2:   reattached a missing line in clouds.xml (thanks to wakandamuzik) so the cloudy weather issue belongs to the past.

simply overwrite my old CLOUDS.XML with the new version.

V1.3:  small changes to all timecycle files.

V1.4:  bug fixing.

here is an image after I installed your darker nights. It works, but for some reason, half of the screen are not showing. I have NvE, but it is working because I did not install Darker Nights from NvE.

Could contain: screenshot, outdoor, clothing, grass, pc game, person

it's hard for me to reproduce as i'm not using any graphic mods at all. so if there are graphic mods used you could run into some issues for sure. i'm still wondering since an older version seems to work fine for you.

i'll have a look into this but it may take some time.

This great to have as long as you understand this not graphics mod

It's not that hard to understand this is part of the timecycle in different weathers like snow sunny to make nights darker Has nothing to do with visual dat file

If you wanna test this out with some type of graphics like visualV or NVE Go into your OpenIV mods/update/update.rpf/common/data/timecycles

drag timecycles folder to your desktop that way if don't like darker nights you can simply put your backup back in It also says in readme back up your files

Great job on this brother as always

Does modded visualsettings have conflict with this mod?

i do not see any reason for this since visualsettings.dat is adressing completely different aspects. for myself i'm using a visualsettings.dat which i've heavy modded to my likings.

Love the darker nights.  However, was the moon intended to be viewed in the sky at all times of the day?  Around dusk and dawn, it is pretty common to see both moon and sun, but not sure about every hour of the day.

i don't know what to do with that to be honest. it's the same in the original files but the moon is much more hidden behind fog and the yellowish part overall which i have reduced. playing around with the settings of sunrise/sunset doesn't help at all. i do see this in real life too but not all through the year. i'm afraid you have to live with that autumn/winter impression. 🙂

anyways i'm glad you like the dark side of the game!

i have no idea what you're talking about. there's nothing like "more orange" in this files and lights could not even be modded in this files. sorry but you are apparently messing with other files around.

hey, just want to add for people having grainy sky nights,

it is caused by having the default skydome, which is in a really low resolution. it can be fixed by installing a high resolution skydome.

awesome mod btw!
