This plugin allows you to place barriers and cones to stop the traffic.

Alternatively you can use your police car to block the road and stop the traffic.

Details

This lightweight plugin will add two features to your game. It will allow you to place barriers and cones via a menu. You can open the menu via U. The barriers and cones will block traffic, but cones only in a small radius. You can change the assigned menu key, just edit the TrafficBlock.ini file. It also allows you to disable the barrier feature in case you want to use a plugin with more options for this, like Richs Scene Manager.

With the second feature you can use your police car as a roadblock while you are not in the car yourself. This feature allows you to operate on a street in case of an emergency, without having NPCs driving around you. Traffic stops will not be blocked by this feature, because it triggers only when you park your car diagonally to the road. Adjustments to this feature can be made by editing the TrafficBlock.ini file. To activate the roadblock do the following steps:

Slow down your police vehicle
Park diagonally on the road you are on
Ensure the siren is active
Leave the vehicle

Traffic will now slow down in front of your vehicle, like you can see it on the uploaded plugin pictures. If you want to end the roadblock, go back to your vehicle and drive away. The traffic block will end once your police car is faster than 10 km/h. This is to ensure that the traffic will not start to flow just because you hit a movement button by mistake.

Requirements

A legal copy of GTA V
RAGE Plugin Hook
RageNativeUI 1.9+ ( https://github.com/alexguirre/RAGENativeUI/releases )

Installation

Just copy the plugin folder into your GTA V folder and enable the plugin in the Rage Hook Settings. You can find more detailed instructions within the ReadMe file.

Troubleshooting

Ensure that you have followed the instructions within the ReadMe
Ensure that the plugin was installed into GTA/plugins
Ensure you have installed all requirements
Ensure that you have at least RageNativeUI 1.9
Try to set the IgnoreTabViews .ini option to true in case of any problems with the menu (for example, if the menu does not open)
Acknowledge: Controller / Game-pad input is not officially supported by me for this plugin
Acknowledge: By downloading another mod you may have downgraded your RageNativeUI, see point 4.

99% of all support requests that reach me are about errors that can be avoided. Please read the tips above very carefully. Most of the time the right version of RageNativeUI is not installed or the IgnoreTabViews fix was not used.

If you still have problems contact me via private message and attach the RagePluginHook.log. I can't help you without this log file!

About the future of Traffic Block
In January 2024 I released a new plugin: Traffic Suite. You can check it out here on lcpdfr.com. It does offer enhanced versions of Traffic Block's features and much more. Traffic Block will stay in maintenance mode. I will not release new features for Traffic Block, but fix critical bugs if reported. You can continue to use Traffic Block if you prefer it! Traffic Block is not abandoned, it's just feature complete 🙂

maybe you can manage to make the emergency vehicles with sirens on can get through while traffic is blocked with a player vehicle,in the future update maybe?🙂

I would like too but I don't see a way to implement this.

Love and use the life out of this plugin, but is it possible you could add a feature where you could just press a button and the traffic-block would activate? I get a lot of issues with the plugin turning on with stuff like traffic stops or running radar and it sucks.

I run an outdated version of Ragenative UI as it was custom fixed for my widescreen monitor so I could actually read menus. Is there any work around on needing the latest Rage UI? Thank you. Can attach it if need be.

Try disabling your emergency lights or park in one line with the road instead of diagonal to it, booth will prevent traffic blocks from activation.

Sorry, no work around. But I heard alex is testing a new version of the rage UI, maybe you can ask him to have a preview build of 1.8?

Doesn't work.

When first load up the game using my keyboard and press the button I have allocated for the mod it works however as soon as I use my controller and then press the same button I have allocated on my keyboard it doesn't work and the menu doesn't show up for some reason.

One small little problem, is that the barriers don’t disappear if left in the world and you unload the plugin, or if it crash.

This plugin does not crash. I have set crash=false. 😁 But you can try to prove me wrong by providing a log file.

I agree regarding the unload problem. I will fix this with the next update.

I hear you, what I am trying to say is if you try the "unloadallplgins" in you crash or want to change a file setting, the barrier stay in the world if you don't take time to remove them first, but if you can fix it that would be awesome. thanks

nice plugin, would be nice if you could do a plugging when you do , traffic stop! or when you blocking streets , so far they stay behind you and is annoying , something like this

Can you make a key to activate the this plugin please? It's really annoying during traffic stop when all the vehicles behind try to go around and it's cause a traffic jam

So i must say the plugins amazing... when it works. ive noticed alot of the time im struggling to position the car for the plugin to catch on :/ if there was like a fail safe to where if it doesn't catch you can press a button, ive been having to use stop the ped sadly but i think this is alot more cool and realistic. It also seems when i load the plugin it works then after a while i cant get it to catch on to stop traffic. i F4 'load plugin ...' then boom it catches on after a few times . not sure maybe it just dose not like me but would be cool if you could have a look or implement a fail safe.

Also the set key does not work when LSPDFR is loaded for some reason.

I have managed to get a fix for this. If set to (player needs to exit car = false) then its alot easier to set. :) 10/10 script

Hey! Quick issue. I really like this mod and have been using it for a bit. However, out of curiosity I wanted to try AI Ambient callouts (which I've done before), no problem but I wanted more red light runners and so I added Traffic Policer, and now despite taking out and re-downloading Traffic Block, traffic block keeps crashing and not loading. It doesn't crash the game or any other plugin but only itself. Wondering how I can fix it as this mod is so god damn useful. XD

You have to follow the Troubleshooting instructions and/or provide a log file. I'm pretty sure your problem is about RNUI or IngoreTabView. All problems that have been reported since TB 1.4.0 are related to these two solutions. Most often people had downgraded RNUI from 1.7 to 1.6 and wondered why Traffic Block stopped working.

Unfortunately, Traffic Policer really killed it so I had to delete the LSPDFR folder and re-create it. Didn't really take long tbh. But just a heads up for anyone who does also wish to use Traffic Policer in any way, you can't with the new updates.

This plugin is soo awesome. But for me atleast even if i park neatly behind a stopped car. Half way up the curve to let traffic pass. It activates a roadblock. Don't know if I can change a setting or anything? But before it only activated road block when you parked at an angle relative to the road you where on.

Can you post a screenshot of the scene and tell me if you have made any changes to the default configuration? I must see where you have parked exactly to give you an answer. There are some places where the roadblock activates no matter what you try, it's due to the way Rockstar Games created their streets.

Hey bud, So unfortunately your mod now just keeps crashing itself on start up. No idea what is causing this as i have recently restarted my mods folder. So everything is fresh...
