Lenny's Mod Loader 0.4 Build 8825

(17 reviews)
Message added by Cyan,

An issue has been identified with the latest build of GTA V and LMLA new build will fix this in the future. The issue is caused by a change in GTA V's DRM/anti-tamper.

In the meantime, as a workaround starting the game with RPH will allow LML to work. You could also launch RPH when GTA V is at the mode selection screen, waiting for RPH to load, then selecting Story Mode.

The general idea of Lenny's Mod Loader is to provide an easy way to install file modifications. This is achieved in two different ways depending on whether existing resources in the game are to be 'replaced' or if new resources are added to the game as 'addons'. To replace resources, the game file system can be modified on a per-file basis allowing you to quickly change the content of files without touching any RPFs. To add new resources, the new content can be loaded from disk directly into the game, again without the need for any RPF changes. Goodbye to patchday17 and dlclist.xml. Certain mods, such as vehicles, can even be loaded at runtime, making choosing your new favorite ride a breeze.

You know, it seems to be a very good Plugin. But I'm affraid to use it. I've been installing every and each of my mods, add-on cars, plugins manually (not even once I have run an auto installation) and I like that manuall way.. I never had a problem with manuall intsalls. Can you change my mind @LMS?!

To add to what LMS said, I think a lot of people don't understand what LML fundamentally is. It is a mod loader first and foremost (hence the name), the auto install stuff is all just extra. If you prefer to install things manually, then LML is literally the perfect thing for you. You don't need to mess with RPF files anymore, you just drop the files directly in subfolders within the LML directory and create a new install.xml for it.

Thank you for making a product that will hopefully make loading mods super easy!  I have a not so technical friend I am helping and hope to use the LML to allow him to easily add mods to his LSPDFR.

I however am trying to get a grasp on making/editing the install.xml file and understanding how some of the mod files work.  What I don't seem to understand is what exactly creates the name used when you spawn an item in the game.

Ex. the Example you use with the Chevy Tahoe Christmas tree.  To spawn that car in the game, you type "spawn 16tahoe".  Seems easy enough except I don't see where that name is referenced in the install.xml or the folder name etc..  Sure the folder name and .xml reference the full name of 16Tahoe_JoshM and I would have thought the spawn command would have been using the full name, "spawn 16Tahoe_JoshM".  The _resource.lua is listed which I thought might have the spawn name of 16tahoe listed but it does not.  I did see in your example on .xmls where <Addon Name = "my car"> and I thought to myself, oh that's where i'll find the spawn name!  But I was wrong.  Infact, that line was not even in the example Chevy Tahoe at all.  Then I realized it's the name of the .ytd file.  Which seems plain enough once I figured it out,  but I guess I don't comprehend why the spawn name is not listed or referenced in the install.xml or any of the other files.  Heck I don't even see where in the info .txt or on the model download page that the spawn name is listed.  Just seems unintuitive.

I tried downloading another vehicle that was not already labeled with the LML tag and it converted it and all but it was the same way and I struggled to find the spawn name until I realized it is the name of the .ytd file.  Granted the mod wouldn't spawn but that's not your fault.

Realize I'm new to this, i'm just looking to grasp it better.  Thank you again for listening and for making this mod loader.  I"m hoping it will make my friend's life easier to load mods.

and if there is a way to search the forums for LML tags only so I can find easy mods for him to start with, please let me know.

This isn't anything to do with LML, the game recognizes models based on their file names (police.yft is spawned with "police", mule.yft is spawned with "mule", 16tahoe.yft is spawned with "16tahoe"). It's the same way no matter how you install them.

le mod ne detecte pas mon jeu??

I think I didnt understand. So for example if I download a mod compatible with LML, do LML install it outomatically and I dont need to no anything else? I just let the program work for itself and then I can just start up my game? or I need to do anything else after the LML install it???

I'm having this same problem, can anyone tell what might be causing this?

Edit: mine was caused by individual packs, disabling them fixed it.

Hi everybody! :-)

I have a little problem with the Mod Loader. I installed this in order to make use of the Police Tape Mod and I am experiencing little stutters every few seconds. As long as I leave the Mod Loader uninstalled, everything runs perfectly smooth. Is there something I can change about that? It´s not that there´s any mods conflicting or anything like that, no crashes et cetera, it´s just that millisecond of stuttering every now and then.

Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance and a wonderful weekend to everybody!

Hi Officer Weatherspoon! 🙂

Thanks very much for your reply! I´m pretty sure that I have everything up to date so I guess outdated files shouldn´t be the root of my problem but thanks indeed for the reminder! It wouldn´t have been the first time for me forgetting to update something. 😄

So I downloaded and installed everything like it says and even watched the video on how to do it, Now I try to play the game and it says Out of game memory. Please reboot and restart the game. I did that and the same message keeps coming up.
