Gameconfig.xml for LML or manual install by RDE Team 3751

(4 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This is the latest gameconfig.xml by @dilapidated, @PNWParksFan, and the RDE Team. A modified gameconfig is required for most add-on mods. We recommend installing this gameconfig using LML (Lenny's Mod Loader). If you are using LML, you can install this package using the Mod Manager, and it will load a working gameconfig.xml for the latest game version. You do not need to change the file in update.rpf, just load this package and you're ready to go.

You can also install this gameconfig manually by downloading the file, and copying gameconfig.xml from the "latest" folder to [mods]\update\update.rpf\common\data\

Please see our github repository for further information and faster updates after new game versions are released.

What's New in Version 3751

Released

Version 3751 is updated for the January 2026 update. Heap Adjuster and Packfile Limit Adjuster are required.

This update changes the SCRIPT_XML value to fix compatibility for some script mods. No changes were required for the base GTA gameconfig.xml, as the only value that changed was fwDynamicArchetypeComponent which is already set to its max value in this gameconfig.

Short Description

gameconfig.xml package for LML or manual installation to enable add-on mods

Sounds like a SHVDN issue

Hi.

Is it possible if the team could update the gameconfig for the current v3788 update? THANKS!

The March 2026 GTA update does not require any changes to gameconfig.xml. The current version (3751) still works for game version 3788.

Ok. But I have been getting ERR_SYS_FILELOAD in the loading screen before crashing. I looked up some tutorials that told me to replace the gameconfig.xml, and @JM Modifications says it's more of an SHVDN issue. What's your take on it? Is he correct or is it anything else that causes ERR_SYS_FILELOAD?

ERR_SYS_FILELOAD is a common error in GTA V indicating corrupt or missing game files, often triggered by mod conflicts, incorrect file placements, or damaged game data.

Primary Causes & Fixes

  • Mod-Related Issues: The most frequent cause is a problematic mod. If you recently installed mods:

    • Move the mods and scripts folders from the GTA V directory to your desktop temporarily.

    • Launch the game. If it works, the issue is within your mods.

    • Re-add mods one by one to identify the culprit.

    • Ensure all mod files are correctly placed and content.xml references valid .rpf files.

  • Corrupted Game Files:

    • Verify Game File Integrity:

      • Steam: Right-click GTA V → PropertiesInstalled FilesVerify Integrity.

      • Epic Games: Library → GTA V → Three dotsManageVerify Files.

    • This process repairs missing or damaged core game files.

  • Hidden or Misplaced Files:

    • Check for missing mods folder or incorrect file paths (e.g., dlcpacks, update).

    • If using GTA V Redux, ensure the 64a and 64w files are present and correctly named.

  • System-Level Fixes:

    • Run as Administrator and ensure no conflicting software (e.g., antivirus) blocks game files.

    • Delete metadata file in Documents\Rockstar Games\GTAV if the error persists after mod removal.

  • Last Resort: Clean Reinstall
